The top cities would be:

Atlanta
New Orleans
Houston/Dallas
Nashville
Jacksonville

I could vote for these. We rotate the basketball tourney, why not the football game?
Heck, I'm even siding with the LSU fans that we need to rotate the baseball tourney somewhere else.

Dear Lord, gump. You really don't know what I'm saying. I responded to a statement that said New Orleans was geographically unfair to all but A&M and LSU. Well a whole shite ton of A&M fans would travel further to New Orleans than all the gumps in Birmingham would.

I don't see what the problem is with Atlanta.

Nothing, imo. New Orleans is still one of my favorite cities in the world, and I've only spent a very brief time in Atlanta, but it was no New Orleans. I would definitely love a rotation where New Orleans was included, but remaining in Atlanta isn't a big deal.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

The SECCG has worked fine in Atlanta and it will continue to do so.

Not happening.

The run of the SEC champion being in the BCSCG every year has been unprecedented. Usually, the SEC champs go to the Sugar Bowl. Occasionally the runner up goes to the Sugar Bowl. Fans of a team in the SECCG would not be thrilled to go to the same location a month apart.

The second the SEC let's go of the Georgia Dome, the ACC will swoop in and lock up that venue for their championship game. You can't rotate for that reason. The Georgia Dome folks will take a guaranteed ACC championship game every year over the SECCG every other year.

Geographically, Atlanta is more centrally located and every single airline flies directly into Atlanta. Travel to NO would be more complicated. Atlanta has 98,000 hotel rooms and New Orleans has 37,000 hotel rooms. The average distance to New Orleans from SEC campuses is 478 miles. The average distance to Atlanta from SEC campuses is 351 miles.

Most fans who go to the SECCG don't make a vacation out of it - they arrive on Friday night or Saturday morning and depart on Sunday. When folks go to New Orleans, they usually stay a few days. For fans of teams going to destination bowl games, it could be difficult to swing it financially to go to both games. Attendance to the the SECCG and the bowl games for both SECCG participants would suffer with most fans having to choose one or the other. A one or two night stay in Atlanta is cheaper than three or four nights in New Orleans.

In conclusion, no.

Would much rather watch that than Beyonce skanking around the stage.

Ummm...atlanta.

The only thing Atlanta doesn't have is a parade, but nobody went to NO this weekend just to watch a parade. They went for the frickin Super Bowl, and oh there just happened to be a parade so they went to check it out. My point is the parade isn't the main event, it was an attraction.

People are going to go to the SECCG whether there's a parade or not.

Atlanta doesn't have a lot of things that New Orleans has, but it works for the SECCG. People get in on Friday, go watch a football game, then go home. New Orleans works for a bowl game where fans are interested in sticking around for a several days.

What is the obsession with NO... Its an overrated city with a lot of bars and overrated restaurants with crappy music... NO should never host the SECCG, NEVER!

Every event organizer raves about the place. The city knows what it's doing. It has experience in hosting the biggest events. Small, walking town with a big atmosphere.
