I'm somewhat surprised that the Arkansas fans didn't mention Tom Jones, Bert Jones' brother who played for Holtz.

Didn't see him listed above so:
Mike Miley (LSU '73) - left early to play MLB for he Angels and was killed in an auto accident.
Some State fan should mention John Bond; he was untackleable.

Jeff Rutledge gets no credit for the National Title in '78 and had a decent NFL career.
I am gonna have to go with that one.
I can't go with that one. he played in the NFL for 14 years. He played in a Super Bowl.
I've gotta say Steadman Shealy. When do you ever hear that name?

6 pages before Jim Bob Cooter, 7 pages before John Bond.
Deifinitely off-season around here.

Andy Kelly for Tennessee. Completely gets overshadowed by preceeding Shuler, Manning, and Martin.
LSU has had several.

Pretty sure Jeff Rutledge was also on Banks High School (Shout out to Thrill Hill, older Bham folks) state champ team. Pretty rare to have all 3.

Everybody seems to forget that Cris Collinsworth was the #1 QB prospect in the country coming out of high school and that he started as a wishbone QB at Florida in the 70s before switching to wide receiver.

He's the actual answer to my trivia question. I normally ask, "Q: Who was UGA's QB when they won the championship with Herschel?
Are you saying that Lastinger was UGA's QB when we won the national title? Because that would be incorrect.

I see a few Gamecock fans mentioning Anthony Wright, not a bad choice. As for Phil Petty he's one of the better known QBs by most Gamecock fans...but one of the QBs I think of when I think of a good unheralded QB is Bobby Fuller ('90 and '91). For comparison here are his career stats (2 years) vs Petty's (4 years):
Fuller: 373/634 (58.8%) 4896 YDS 28 TD 17 INT
Petty: 444/824 (53.9%) 5429 YDS 26 TD 28 INT
Petty won more games and got us to back to back Outback Bowls but performance wise Fuller was better, yet he never gets mentioned when former Gamecock QBs are discussed.
