Why do y'all use this as a measure of success? That one TD doesn't make him a success. He was a serviceable role player and I love what he did, but he's not exactly a success story. I agree that a feel good story is a better fit for Kodi.
It's an opinion on success. He was recruited as a 5 star QB, it didn't work out and he struggled, he could have quit or transferred, but instead switched to WR, was a starter, and helped his team win a national championship. Now on top of that, he's a GA at Auburn.

No, but the tenacious blocking he did as a WR and his leadership qualities that helped bring AU a BCSNC in the middle of a UA apex, seem to qualify as "success". Either way, I don't know why it fricking matters how you term a former player. It's all subjective.

Evans quotes on UCLA visit and more per a 247 article LINK
quote:
It was amazing and blew my mind,” Evans said. “It almost overwhelmed me to be honest. At one point I was real close to committing, but I still want to take my time and wait a little bit to see what happens.
The campus was beautiful, I had a great time and the players and coaches made me feel at home, even though I was a six-hour flight away from my family. Their message was plain and simple. They want me, they need me and the fact that I would be far from my home, and they wanted to let my mom know they would take care of me.
My mom was unsure about them almost to the point of not considering them,” Evans said. “Now that she has talked to Jim Mora Jr. and Jeff Ulbrich and got a feel for how their personality fits with mine, she definitely has come around to liking them and almost being swayed to letting me coming over there. (Mom still a hurdle for UCLA IMO.)
I want to set up either an official visit to Alabama or Auburn,” Evans said. “I am not sure if I will take an official to Auburn yet. There is a possibility I do not take an official to Auburn, because I have been over there so many times. I do not know anything possible that they could do differently to show me how much they want me. But I will think about that and see if I want to take an official there or not. I might go see them play Ole Miss this weekend on an unofficial.
Early on I was basing Auburn’s chances off of how their season goes, and they definitely have impressed me and that is the reason they are still in there,” Evans said. “I was telling everybody about wanting to see how they handle this season and they have responded, so they are a strong contender for me.
Georgia is getting an official visit in December, which will likely be the last one for me,” Evans said. “I am pretty aware of why Georgia wanted to get me there then. After I get back from Georgia it will probably come down to decision time for me. At the very latest it will come at the Under Armour All-America Game, but it could come before then.
I visited there last time and it was nice,” Evans said. “I enjoyed myself. With Georgia, I felt at home, Todd Grantham is an amazing coach and Coach Mark Richt is laid back and almost favors the personality of my dad.
This is the hardest decision I will ever make,” Evans said. “If signing day were tomorrow, I do not think I could pick a school. All of them are great schools, all are doing well this season, they can get me to where I want to go and I like them all almost equally.
All of the schools are coming at me so hard and giving me so many reasons to go there, so it will probably come down to the reasons why I should not go there,” Evans said. “With UCLA, the fact that they are all the way out there and not in the SEC, so they do not have that Southern edge that SEC schools have. With Georgia, it maybe the depth I guess or maybe who they are recruiting. With Alabama it would be depth chart as well. And with Auburn it is whether or not I want to stay there or not.

based off of that, i'd say UGA is the team to beat... no question evans wants to leave home, but mom's not gonna let him go to LA... UGA will be the compromise. They'll get his last OV and seal the deal.

Don't be so sure UGA gets the last OV. As stated a month or so ago per AUC or AUR recruiting notes, Auburn is positioning themselves to get Evans to OV for the End of the year awards banquet weekend. Obviously it has not been set up uet but worth keeping in the back of our minds.

Quotes from Jesse Jackson per AUR LINK
AUR and AUC says the 2 schools are Miss St and Auburn with Miss St likely leading. Announcement is 11 AM Monday per AUR. AUC says if it is Miss St. they have not been notified yet they are getting him.

I'm stuck between two schools right now,
When I go to Auburn (Ole Miss game), I want to talk more with the players. I want to roam the campus and be around the coaching staff. I'm going to get there early so I'll have a full day. Those few things will sell it,
I'm looking at how good a season they have and I'll factor in the players that are coming up, could I start as a freshman, things like that. The main thing though, the education -- I want to check all that out. I want to get a good vibe with the program.
We talk regularly (CDC), I'll call him again before I visit and let him know I'm coming. Our relationship is growing,
State, they've always been there. From day one, they were my first offer. I've always had a good feeling when I go there. They'll be there for me. I'm just checking out another option in Auburn and they're a contender,
I threw with Elijah this summer and I've grown to know him, we have a good relationship," Jackson said. "Auburn, I know they have a big-time kid coming in (Sean White) and I've seen him at some camps. I think he's visiting this weekend, so I'll meet him.
It's 50-50 right now, it's even right now.

I still don't understand why Auburn has had so much trouble recruiting safeties in the recent past. Ridiculous.

Per AUC LINK
-Staff has not heard who Clark is picking but is not very optimistic
-Dampeer is a take all the way. Chances are strong he commits after his OV this weekend
-Getting Dampeer would not affect Auburn's pursuit of Casher. They will still go at him hard
-Auburn has not shut the door on Ricky Parks returning. staff likes him a lot.
-Still evalling Darrion Hutcherson.

Thank God.
Anybody know what he did in the first place? Failed drug tests?
Dude is an absolute baller and we need good young TEs in a bad way. We could use him this year a lot.

So...... We still have (2) Safety spots and (2) DL spots to recruit for this cycle. Who are the targets? I'd say this is our biggest area of need wouldn't yall outside of LB?

DT
Elisha Shaw, Josh Frazier, Arthur Williams, and Kendavius Street
DE
Andrew Williams, Spencer Williams, Dante Sawyer
As for biggest needs I would have DTs and Safeties over LBs since we have LB commis in Tre and Deshaun Davis.

Xavier Dampeer has been evaluated by 247 and is now a 3*.

Not getting either of those. Which means we're down to two DT targets.
