According to tweets and UK Sports radio. That ought to be interesting. Damn it would be fun to sit next to him for that game.

I had a chance to visit with BG for about 45 minutes at an event his first year (ironically it was at the Elite 8 in Austin in which UK was playing). Really interesting guy but completely obsessed with basketball to an unhealthy level. When talking to him I asked him what he liked to do outside of bball and he said, "Nothing really. I just want to coach basketball, play basketball, or watch basketball. It's why I am divorced and don't have kids."

I'd take him back. Athletic dept. just needs to hire him a chauffeur and we're good to go.

Why is that do you wonder?

Is it the cultish behavior that surrounds CS that helped him be successful there?

You also might not want to let him talk directly to the student athletes either. That also appears to be a flaw of his, not just drinking.

Billy's just old school. He doesn't put up with prima donnas and grinds the crap out of his players. That's why he was great at rebuilding but not at taking over programs that already had some momentum. Honestly when he went to Kentucky I thought it might end up being the basketball version of losing Bryant to Bama. The light was shined too brightly on him there though and people didn't like the way the sausage was made and it all blew up on him.

Think of what would have happened to Bear if he pulled a Junction Boys today, he would have been sent to prison. A guy like BG or Bear needed to have complete control in order for their system to work. Unfortunately BG got frustrated and turned to the bottle too much and now the goods are just too damaged. I could still see some small program that has been terrible forever hiring him and seeing him build a winner. The guy is a brilliant basketball mind and his former players from A&M that made it through his rebuilding process think of him like a God.

Hanging w Rick Ross is one thing but BCG will be an entirely different level.

Manziel won't survive this one.

As do many Aggie fans.

To say that basketball is his obsession would be an understatement, not all obsessions are healthy.

As someone who's actually been 'coached' by BG (Elite A&M Camp his last year at A&M), I can say he is the best coach I've ever come across. He demands full energy, all the time. He knows that if your practice at 120% then when it comes to game time you'll have no issues. He would have done well at Tech, but his players obviously didn't want to put the work in to be the best. I welcome him to come back to A&M.

More specifically that one of our big cult rituals revolves around binge drinking so an Alcoholic like him can blend in:
