I trust A&M will make the most of it and not frick it up. Hyman is probably the right man to lead y'all through your next stage - but he has the biggest fricking ego in the history of ADs anywhere in the country.

Pretty amazing how much one year in the SEC has helped A&M in a lot of different areas. Even institutional pride. Not saying A&M didn't have it before, but getting away from the Horns and Big 12 seems to have done wonders for the Ags.

It is a total and complete transformation. We needed to go our own way a long time ago.

Yeah, I read and posted on Tex Ags 3 years ago when the rumors first started and followed it pretty closely since I was living in Houston at the time. Worked closely with UT and Ags and the narrative has changed so much in such a short period of time on both sides. Good change for A&M, not as much for UT.

Is this Spring 2013 applications? Kind of seems high for Spring admissions/applications.

If it's Fall 2012 applications, then obviously those applications were processed well before football season began.

Fall 2013 applications haven't even started yet, to my knowledge.

Straighten me out, here, aggies, I'm sure you will.

I've said this a lot, but the SEC move is the best move the university has made since allowing women to enroll.

I thought this didn't go into effect until 2014

Indeed it is Fall 2013. Looks like the deadline was Jan. 15, 2013.

No need to be snarky, there, agroid.

The deadline is not hard and fast. You questioned whether I made this up fig, thus the smarminess.

No surprise, especially for such a clean and well respected public institution.

Mea culpa!

I've got a couple of Longhorn friends, one quite a bit older than me well into his 60s. He's pretty even handed about things, but A&M moving to the SEC riled him - no doubt about it. Both of'em are worried, although neither will outright admit it, that this could cause some serious long term hurt to the Horns unless they get rid of Mack Brown and get a younger guy that can relate to the kids.

Of course they are pretty insistent that the best white players in the state will continue to go to Texas.

That's way too big, IMO. College campuses should be collegiate, not industrial complexes.

Anything north of 35k is just ridiculous.
