I am going to evaluate as many as I can and I hope to get them all on the first page if possible, so please, don't respond until I reserve the first page.

David Cornwell

247 Profile

Junior Highlights

-First off, marvel at the punishment he lays on the defender at the 1:40 mark
-Great size; looks like a TE
-Elite arm strength; capable of making all the throws
-Very accurate, especially the deep ball
-Throws very well on the run and across his body; testament to his arm strength
-Good, not great mechanics; could use a little work on his follow through; excellent release point on his passes
-Footwork is inconsistent; sometimes it's great, other times he gets happy feet (expected from a high school Junior)
-Literally took one snap under Center in his highlight reel ; probably going to need work making the transition to a Pro-Style offense
-Above average athlete; quicker than I thought he would be anyway
-Not afraid of contact; steps up in the pocket to deliver the throw
-I don't know much about the competition he plays against, but I will say that there appeared to be a bunch of undersized white guys on the defensive side of the ball

I started to get a "Hackenberg feeling" watching Cornwell's tape. As of right now, admittedly I'm in the early part of the process, he would be #1 on my list to land for next years class.

Tyler Harris

247 Profile

Junior Highlights

-Good size at 6'3" 205 lbs
-Very strong arm; puts some zip into it when he needs to
-Has a slightly odd delivery; tends to open up his throwing shoulder more in the pocket when he should stay more compact
-Footwork is good, not great; Sets a nice base when he throws from the pocket
-Strangely enough, his mechanics throwing on the run are better than his mechanics in the pocket; that's usually reversed
-Very accurate passer
-One snap under Center that ended up being a QB sneak

-Playing in Georgia allows him to play against top competition
-Pretty good athlete; evasive in the pocket while avoiding the rush

Overall, I like Harris. However, there is just something about him that doesn't feel right. I can't explain it. I wouldn't mind getting him, but I think we could do better.

Brandon Dawkins

Junior Highlights

-What a block to start off the tape
-Good height; nice build
-Mechanically he needs some work on his follow through and release point, but they are good overall
-Has a little experience taking snaps under Center, but the majority of his film is from the shotgun
-Footwork is a little frenetic
-Good athlete; not extremely fast, but decent speed
-Above average arm
-Not afraid of contact; certainly doesn't shy away from it if he needs a yard or two
-Pretty accurate, but needs to be more consistent

I think Dawkins could be really good given some time to add bulk and tweak his mechanics. He appears to have a good base skillset to be special given time.

We plan to sticky this as soon as NSD is wrapped up.

I need some players to evaluate. I have 11 empty slots on this page.

EJ Moss perhaps? Not too informed on the 14 QB recruits yet.

I have scoured the interwebz for Junior film on Moss and have come up empty.

On a side note, Moss is ranked as the #54 player overall for 2014 by MaxPreps.
