Obama "Football Fans Should Have a Guilty Conscience"

"I think that those of us who love the sport are going to have to wrestle with the fact that it will probably change gradually to try to reduce some of the violence," Obama told The New Republic.
"In some cases, that may make it a little bit less exciting, but it will be a whole lot better for the players, and those of us who are fans maybe won't have to examine our consciences quite as much."
In an interview in the magazine's Feb. 11 issue, Obama said he worries more about college players than he does about those in the NFL.
"The NFL players have a union, they're grown men, they can make some of these decisions on their own, and most of them are well-compensated for the violence they do to their bodies," Obama said. "You read some of these stories about college players who undergo some of these same problems with concussions and so forth and then have nothing to fall back on. That's something that I'd like to see the NCAA think about."

Football is already the opiate of the masses. Soon, it will finish it's evolution into the modern analog of the gladiatorial games. It will be played by the underclass for the entertainment of the privileged. PEDs will be common and encouraged. Rules on vicious hits and unsportsmanlike conduct will be relaxed.
It really will be the halcyon days.
Seriously, I do see something like this happening soon. Maybe not an overt effort, but no well-to-do family will want their child to play such a violent and potentially damaging sport. It will be strictly for those with no other option--the poor. It kind of already is. The rich and middle class will still follow their favorite teams, but they won't have any direct experience outside of maybe a flag football team in high school. Blood bowl here we come.

I'm tired of this crap. Not just from Barry. From the NFL period. Especially the commish. The players make millions of dollars to play football. They KNOW the risks when they make the decision to play. Get the frick over it. I cannot believe how retarded shite as gotten.

It's just the 'me' culture. They are too stupid to understand the stupidity of their positions. It's why Obama got elected twice. That, and blacks voting 100% for the half white guy.

Don't flatter the president. Even John Kerry was able to receive over 90% of the African-American vote.
...Or maybe Obama got elected twice because the Republicans nominated two shitty candidates whose views did not reflect favorably with a majority of Americans.
