I think Patrick Towles will be the starter. I know Max is better, but Towles should know the playbook a little better from HS. Max may fit well, but I have to lean Towles right now. What's your opinions on this.

Max will start if healthy but Towles is the next option. Towles will eventually take over but could sooner than later depending on how the season is going.

Towles is a solid QB for sure though.

I agree, I think Max will be the opening game starter, but Towles will be #2, and at some point in the season will likely become the starter. I think his upside is greater than Max's.

The spread isn't very hard to install and is small enough that I don't think that'll necessarily be an issue. I fully expect Max to start if he's fully healthy though. Towles still has a bit of work to do and had his own injury to deal with. We'll see though.

I also think Whitlow still gets some reps in there somewhere. He'll fit well in the spread IMO.

At UK the question is not who starts the season but who finishes it. I have watched decades of banged up UK QB's so I am just pointing this out and not attempting to rustle jimmies.
