And how can you tell that you've crossed it?

I will say under I-44, and maybe split VA in half.

I would bump that red line up a little to include the Southern halves of Kentucky and Virginia and exclude West Texas. Otherwise, pretty spot on.

That's a little far west into TX, and OK doesn't belong at all - but a pretty solid map.

All of Kentucky and West Virginia are the South.

Parts of Missouri are definitely south. Where I few up is, for sure. I agree with Stripes - south of I-44, and between I-44 and I-70 is questionable.

I'd agree with Kentucky, not with WV. That place is a daggum third world country.

Also, anyone who doesn't consider Virginia part of the South needs to read a book, then use that book as kindling to DIAF.

Ya, I guess we can just call WVa Appalachia. it certainly has more in common with the South then North or Midwest though.

You claim Tallahassee as part of the south....but say everything around Polk County is not?

Exactly, definitely not midwestern, not northeastern, and not southern. Appalachia is all it's own, kind of like Texas.

For the record I love VISITING West Virginia. The thought of living there, however, gives me vertigo and nausea.
