BamainHSV hasn't been with us for a while, but maybe he will pop in. Who else posts from the Rocket City?

Good engineering school and good job market for engineers. Smart move. UAH appears to suck regarding almost any social aspect of college life unfortunately.

While Huntsville is a great city for the family life and a great job market, it still has some improvements to make for the young, single crowd. From what I can tell, it does seem to be getting better.

I'm 28, IDGAF about how the social aspect of UAH is. I care about getting to and from campus without a bullet hole being put in my truck.

Won't be a problem. While there are some small areas where crime is more prevalent than you would want, those areas are confined and mostly stay segregated. While a couple of those areas are close to UAH, I have never felt the least bit unsafe going to and from the campus.

Do you know in what area of town you are going to live?

you'll be fine. There are certain areas of HSV to avoid at night, but it is otherwise a safe city. Been here all my life, and UAH social scene isnt all that bad. It's definitely not an SEC college town in terms of partying etc. UAH is still a commuter school.
