Maybe you should start a thread about which rivalries are more important.

Bama/auburn
Bama/UT
Georgia/auburn
Florida/Georgia
Ole miss/ miss state
UT/Florida

And see where the Ole Miss/arky Ole miss/LSU games rank.

It all depends on who you ask.

Nobody outside of Alabama or Tennessee cares about UT/Bama, yet its been treated as sacred so far.

My favorite two rivalries in football and baseball are LSU and Ole Miss.

I could see us getting stuck into a pod with

UT
Vandy
Mizzou
Ark

That would suck balls.

I agree. I see the more likely division to be A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, and MSU. The only good chance for the 4 divisions died when Mizzou entered. What I wish it could have been:

Texas
A&M
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State

Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
MSU

Alabama
Auburn
Tennessee
Vanderbelt

Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Florida

Its all moot anyway. I read on ShaggyBevo that us and Nebraska are going Big 12. Mizzou is apparently also invited.

Football brings the money. So it will probably be based on football. If you can come up with a better 4 pod system that is pretty balanced and preserves most rivalries I'd love to see it.

I couldn't manage to come up with one that keeps all the main ones (Georgia/auburn) for example.

And if you think ole miss/arky or ole miss/LSU is cared about more by the nation and media than UA/UT then you are just crazy.

UA/UT has been on one hell of a decline recently. At least within the past 10 years the vast majority of all OM/LSU and OM/Ark have been competitive and interesting. Arky may go on the decline for a few years, but they'll be back; OM/LSU however is about to get really interesting over the next few years (if they haven't already).

8x2: Missouri to the west, UNC and Duke added to the east.

4x4:

LSU/A&M/Arky/Mizz
OM/MSU/AU/Bama
UF/UGA/UNC/Duke
UT/Vandy/UK/USC

UT/Vandy/UK/USC

I'd say this is most likely. I'm thinking we'd keep LSU, Vandy, and likely get Duke as our permanent opponents. They're not going to do some retarded bullshite like making a division between Mississippi and the Carolinas. They'll pretty much just take LSU and Arky from the West and make them their own division with the noobs, and just triple the number of perminant opponents, so Alabama keeps Tennessee, Auburn keeps Georgia, LSU keeps Ole Miss, etc.

Ole miss has won what??? Two of the last 11 against LSU? The UT/UA rivalry is more competitive than that.

First of all, look at the scores. It seems like since Nick came to town, all your victories have been basic rape. Secondly, why couldn't we keep both dumbass? Unless I'm mistaken (which I'm not), you aren't in the same division now, what's to keep you from being permanent opponents in the future? If Arky and LSU are in the same division however, that does mean we lose Arky, which I don't want to happen. Seriously, aside from Ole Miss and State, why would any of those teams want to play each other each year in your bracket?

Ummm 12-10 in 2009 wasn't a rape.

Congrats on not destroying them for once. An absolute rape only happened twice in ten years with Ole Miss vs LSU.

One thing i take from this thread is that LSU-Bama definitely isn't as big of a rivalry as the media makes it out to be, which is weird considering how long they've played each other.

So, between Bama, UT, UGA, UF, Auburn, and Ole Miss, there are ideally 12 games out of 128 (or 144) that are already scheduled, regardless of pod/division setup. I wonder if that's doable. Too lazy to check now.

What about floating pods every couple years?

LSU/Bama is only a rivalry to LSU fans and young people.

Era: Florida is a bigger rivalry to me due to all the times we've faced them when we were both good either in season or in the seccg.

More on 8x2. If the conference goes to 8x2, there will be one permanent opponent apiece. I think these would be the pairings....

Alabama and Tennessee
Arkansas and South Carolina
Auburn and Georgia
Duke and Missouri
Florida and LSU
Kentucky and Mississippi State
Ole Miss and Vanderbilt
North Carolina and Texas A&M

I'm drunk... Explain this 8x2 shite.

Eta: or is that just 2 divisions of eight with cross divisionals? If so.... Oooo nevermind.

The "pod" thing isn't happening, I wish people would drop it.
