Or is Bama just easier to win at? Spurrier thinks it is obviously.

This makes no sense.

Sure it does. Why is CNMFS a better coach at UA than when he was coach at LSU?

Because LSU made Saban who then resurrected Bama.

You learn things as you go through life. His experiences at LSU and the NFL really made him into the coach he is today.

Pretty sure it has to do with moxie.
Moxie might be a girl's name, which sounds pretty Alabama-ish. Could also be the regional soft drink.

My opinion is that Saban was a good coach already before he came to bama, but he caught lightening in a bottle. Mike Shula was a good recruiter and not so much a good coach. He had the talent there but couldn't coach them up. So Saban came in and had immediate success with Shula's recruits but was able to sell recruits to what he was showing on the field. So now he recruits well and coaches the top players up. I think he would easily have had the same success at lsu had he stayed.

1. Experience. As you work longer, you gain more experience at your job and perfect your craft.

2. Name cache. He won a National Championship at LSU, and sent a lot of players to the NFL while he was here...therefore it's easier to sell to recruits to buy in to his philosophy

3. NFL experience.

4. No cloud of whether he will leave for the NFL. Coaches can't use that to negatively recruit against Saban.

Next stupid question. I don't see how this was so hard to figure out. You can apply a lot of these same things to real life jobs and work experience.

And this. Saban only had 5 years at LSU in which he mustered up 1 national title and 2 conference titles. In his first 5 years at Alabama, he won 2 national titles but only 1 conference title.

Pretty unfair to compare the 2 runs in which Bama got an extra year, and ultimately another national championship.

Saban was just as good a head coach at LSU as he is at Bama. Saban left LSU loaded with talent.

LSU was the most talented team in the SEC from 05-07. I think they went 34-6, 1 SEC and national title, 2 SEC Western division titles and 2 BCS bowls. I think LSU was a pretty big favorite in the 05 SEC championship game, but were upset by Georgia.

Had Saban never left LSU, there is no telling how NC LSU would have won by now. My guess would be 4 or 5.

Okay…now that I've got that out of my system, I can honestly say I will never take a post of yours seriously ever again.
