No. If they won't take a sectarian school, they won't take a military academy

The BYU thing has more to do with the fact that they think they're the Notre Dame of the west and scheduling.

I don't know BYU would go even if they were invited.

Big Ten won't take anyone from the ACC that isn't an AAU school:

This means

Maryland (already confirmed)
Virginia
Duke
UNC

Seems to me like rivalries are a lot easier to maintain in basketball. Shouldn't be a huge consideration for a basketball school.

ETA: Revenue difference is probably enormous though.

Does this mean we could possibly jettison Missouri and add a more competitive program like a Wake Forest?

I kid...maybe,

Too good a school to associate themselves with the southeast. SEC is limited to middle of the packers like us.

Destined to be NCState and VT.

Brings up all kind of issues, what about Clemson ? Could there be four tigers and two death valleys in SEC or do they get left out? That is why this will all move fast. Nobody, conference or school wants to be "the kid left without a seat in musical chairs. "

All these possible additions to the SEC is making my head hurt. Before too long, the SEC won't even feel like a conference anymore.

why doesn't LSU just leave for the big 12? That way you guys can cry about how you suck there too.

The REC will not cheat. The REC will win. There are at times a grey area in interpretation of NCAA rules. The REC concentrates on those areas open to interpretation.

Others concentrate on whatever sphere they want to explore. Westerman is leaving AU for example.

And yes when I first told them about rumors I heard they responded with a pompous "North Carolina will never join the SEC." Then a week later they emailed me and admitted that it was true. They clearly think they are not really Southerns any more but East coast people of superior intellect etc.

And beginning of the super conference system and playoff system. ( as predicted)

NEWS FROM THE EAST COAST

UVA will announce next week they are leaving ACC to big ten

SEC in discussions with UNC but must take Duke too
SEC also in discussions with Virginia Tech and NC state if the UNC thing doesn't work out

FLORIDA STATE and Miami in talks with Big 12 now. This will all happen very fast just like last year.

I am sure that Mark Womack will ensure that Alabama plays duke or nc state while LSU will play NC state or VA Tech.

Obviously our opinions don't matter for shite so there it is res ipsa loquitor.
