Texas A&M and Ole Miss are killing the recruiting trail and coming off very great seasons considering expectations.

Alabama and LSU are still around...

Arky, Auburn, and MSU are all programs that want to be good. There's no room!

Is it possible for four teams to be successful at once in the SEC West? Does one team fall out completely? Do teams rotate having bad years?

Means:

Good years = Bad years

Great years = Good years

Relatively speaking, of course.

At one point late in 2011, LSU, Bama and Arky were all in the top 4 in the BCS standings.

Assuming an upswing at AU and Arkansas, it will be impossible for 7 teams to have 10 wins. There may well be some very good teams whose record won't reflect it.

This.

And Auburn was defending National Champion.

SEC West has been "impossible" for many years, it's nothing new.

As Les said a few seasons ago, "Somebody has to lose. I hope it's not us."

1, 2, and 3 in late November, I believe...

About to be impossible? You are talking about a division featuring 5 of the last 6 national champions. Nothing has changed really.

Except that the SEC gets better and better and more and more attractive to kids all around the country the longer the dominance is sustained. We're already starting to see that even our lower level teams like MSU, OM, Vandy, etal are starting to gain the ability to recruit nationally. If the streak continues for another 5-6 years, there will almost be no parity left between us and other conferences...

Yep. It was the last week in November. When Arkansas went up 14-0 I thought things would get interesting. LSU won 41-17.

This was the first year ever that I believe there was a chance (although a small one) that the SEC would go undefeated in bowls. I really think it happens in the next few years.

everyone except State will be having really good seasons. LSU is going to lose like 3 or 4 SECW games next year and look almost as silly as State does.

Teams rise and teams fall. It has always been this way and will continue to be this way.

If Ole Miss keeps improving, and Malzahn can unlock Auburn's considerable talent, Arky and MSU could quickly get left behind.

Of the 7 SECW schools, those two will have the toughest time recruiting all other things being equal. Texas, Lousiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Georgia are athlete goldmines. Arkansas, a poor recruiting state, doesnt recruiting any of those other states well and MSU plays fourth fiddle for guys coming out of Mississippi after Bama, LSU and Ole Miss. Both schools have coaches who have huge recruiting question marks.

If the other five schools have good coaching and reasonable success, where are they going to get the kind of kids needed to be competitive?
