Saban: Texas A&M, Georgia and ND were the three best teams we played this year

Saban: The best team? We played a lot of good teams. Obviously the one that beat us was the best the day that we played them at was Texas A&M. Georgia came five yards away from playing in the championship game. I think Notre Dame is a very, very good team. We played extremely well in the game against them. I think the way we played offensively and the way we controlled the ball probably wore them down a little bit. Maybe they weren't quite as used to the heat as our team was but we have a tremendous amount of respect for them and their program.

Surprisingly, not one mention of LSU. Saban also said that Johnny Manziel is so good that he single-handedly forced him to change his recruiting tactics to recruit more athletic, quicker, fast-twitch players on defense.

Not really. He still sees LSU as his biggest impediment to continued success. He will never say anything that will give LSU any legitimacy. It's part of the psychological game he's always playing.
I'm not being paranoid. Everyone knows he doesn't have an off switch, it's just part of that.

That's interesting considering LSU gave them their toughest game aside from tamu. I don't know for sure if LSU played bama better than ND tho, it's a tough call.
