Has now hired former Bama grad assistant Billy Napier to be his QB coach. Let's see... How many is that now?

Sal, Pruitt, Napier, tried to get Burns. Am I leaving anyone out? This is bordering on creepy and pathetic. I mean does he not have any confidence at all in his ability to pick assistant coaches? If I'm a FSU fan, I'd be really concerned about this trend.

they might need to add FSU to the Team Forum list, at this rate.

Put it right under Alabama.

To be fair, he was at Clemson for a while and was even OC before being fired.

I've heard some not-go-good things about Pruitt since he took the FSU job. He may never be welcomed back.

Yeah, I know. But there is a clear and definite pattern to his hiring practices.

Let me ask you a question as you seem to really be up on recruiting info. Do you think Pruitt had anything to do with Walker going to FSU and if so, was it bad enough that he probably burned his bridges in Alabama? Somebody on BOL implied that Pruitt gave Sal info that might have tipped the balance in FSU's favor there at the last minute. I didn't know the person, so I have no idea how reliable that information was.

It's just people acting like LSU fans and turning their backs on him because he left.

Saban has the Midas touch, and Fisher is trying to surround himself with the gold.

I think Pruitt was inadvertently responsible for the flip, as he was very close to Walker and Sunseri may have used that to FSU's advantage while Pruitt was still in Miami. I think Walker made his intentions known he was coming with him as soon as he heard.

I think the situation differed from Cyler Miles following Nussmeier because it was more plausible a Florida recruit would go to Florida. And of course the reasons he had said he switched in correlation with him moving in with his mom didn't hurt. Though I don't think he cared enough to switch because of them, just added positives.

I've heard Sal is the one of the 2 they will never be back, and this was while he was finishing out the season as UT's DC. I have heard Pruitt has talked with Paige and is just shy of throwing Bama under the bus in his pitch.

I see. Any connection between that and Paige not coming on his official this weekend?

How exactly would he (or anyone else) recruit against us ("throw us under the bus") other than using our depth chart against us? What do you say? "You don't want to go there. All they do is win and go to the NFL." I mean I'm blinded by my fandom, I know. Other than the depth chart issue, it must be really hard to negative recruit against us with a straight face.

The rumor I've heard down here is "Bama won't take care of you if you don't qualify, we will."

I do not know the validity of the rumor, Pensacola/Gulf Breeze has a pretty big FSU contingent...

On that subject, Paige is not visiting today as originally scheduled. BOL says he's still firm, but it sounds its a situation that bears watching. LT was supposed to visit Paige and J Cook today...

Because we can't.

I don't care if Pruitt says Saban is a bastard and hates him, I'm not gonna start talking shite about him and what not. He contributed to a lot of our success and nothing changes that.

You aren't. But I definitely will if it ever comes out that he tried to hurt Alabama or spoke negatively against us in any way.

Hell, I'm sure Pat Dye did some great things for Alabama when he was assistant here, but that will never stop me from talking shite about that man.

I see it as just a job, there isn't really much loyalty involved. It's not because they want to stay and be with a certain HC or boss, they are just waiting for a the best offer they can get.

I don't take their actions or leaving and actions after personal, but I don't expunge them because they did Bama good at some point. You can definitely change your relationship with a school with a single action. I've heard rumors that Croom or Swinney will likely never be hired by Bama in any capacity because of actions in the past.

Oh I agree, it is just a job. But just as in business, there is a right way to do it and a wrong way. If you do it the wrong way, you deserve the negative consequences that you produce. That includes fan backlash.

In regards to Pruitt, I have no idea if he did anything unethical or wrong. I'm assuming he didn't until otherwise informed.

With him, it is a little different because he's a graduate. There are just too many high school football players out there for me to find it necessary to do something against a school you seemingly have that kind of loyalty to. I'm definitely giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. I'd really be disappointed if it ever came out that he was dishonest and/or negatively recruited against us.

I guess I should add that the truth is not negative recruiting. I have no problem with the truth, even if it does hurt us. A kid deserves to know everything to make a good informed decision on where he wants to go to school. Just don't make shite up. Negatively recruiting with a lie is inexcusable no matter what the situation.

For instance, if Pruitt knew we wouldn't help him place if he didn't qualify and it was true, then so be it. But if we would help the kid place...then, frick him. That would be inexcusable and unethical.

I'm with you on this up until the "...there pitiful, miserable piece of shite fan base." as I happen to be one of those. I've never been a fan of Jimbo's as a head coach, always thought he looked clueless as well and we constantly lose at least one game that shouldn't have ever been a contest. I also have serious doubts that we will ever win a NC at FSU with him on the sidelines.

I grew up on Bear and Bama and went to school at FSU hence my love for both. I was happy as hella when Stoops left and will be even happier when Jimbo decides to move on.

But as far as fan bases go, I can only guess you met a few of our fans that aren't the norm, and I apologize for their idiocy. Most of us are fun knowledgeable people. And yes, we have an arrogance about us b/c of Bobby and the 90s - 2000s as well. And yeah, I'm almost unbearably arrogant when it comes to CFB b/c of Bama and FSU and if it was me that you met, then I do apologize for my arrogance and idiocy

But not sure "miserable", "pitiful" and "piece of shite" would describe our fanbase...the Gators, yes. ND's, yes. Oklahoma's, absolutely. USCw, hell yes.

I've lived in Pensacola for 20 years. Florida State fans are as fair weathered a fan base as I've ever come across. But they are somewhat more knowledgeable than the Gator fans. Hell no joke probably 90% of the Florida fans i know have no clue who Galen Hall is.
