To win the Heisman as a freshman is pretty amazing, so I'm sure many people across the SEC are wondering how Manziel will do his sophomore year. What do you guys think his chances are of hitting a sophomore slump kind of like Cam Newton in the pros after winning Rookie of the Year?

Very high chance. Too much game film on him now

Yeah just like Cam, because you know the NCAA and the NFL are the same in all.

He takes a step back production-wise but his soph slump is still good enough to have him top 3 in SEC

Spot on being cocky has everything to do with a sophomore slump.

All kidding aside. I am more worried about offseason Johnny than next year Johnny. Dude has a wild streak. He is a easy target right now.

For real, I could have sworn it was his decision making? But you're right.

He'll be better, his passing game still has lots of room to improve and I'm sure they will put an emphasis on working on that all offseason.
Plus a full offseason to tailor the offense even more to his ability

He clearly had a Heisman slump in the Cotton so next year we are doomed.
In all seriousness, Manziel really didn't even have a full grasp of the offense until late in the season. By the end of the year he was like a surgeon in reading the defense and knowing what play to call or when to run or pass. That's only going to get better. He's also going to see his QB coach in California again.
Air Raid QB's almost always continue to improve because the key to the Air Raid is truly understanding the system without thinking and learning how to read defenses. It's also noteworthy that Manziel didn't win the starting job until a couple weeks before the season started and was #2 or below prior to that. Thus the A&M coaches really didn't have much time to modify the offense to work optimally with Manziel's skills as a runner. Sumlin and Kingsbury spoke to how they didn't know how good he would be because in practices and scrimmages a QB is down if they get a finger on them.
More than any of that though Manziel is one of the most confident football players I have ever seen play the game and meshing an ultra competitive nature with an "it's still just a game" attitude. You can tell he is just out there having fun and he isn't intimidated by anything.
I guess it is also possible that Bama becomes entitled over the offseason and assumes they will just waltz to the Title game again no matter what. I wouldn't count on that either though.

He had an amazing season- AMAZING season. Yes, or well I wouldn't be surprised if he slumped because its life, it's generally how things work when someone flies so high they fall- what goes up must come down.
