He's definitely athletic enough for it.

Seems like a well-rounded kid as well. He'll definitely be a great addition to any program he chooses.

He seems athletic but not necessarily a great quarterback. His skills are raw and feet work not that good. He is a dual threat which I think helps him but I think he would be better suited for a different position at Kentucky. At the end of the day though it would help in our recruiting rankings and it could open up new relationships in the future.

I think a lot of top programs are passing on him because he's not that great of a QB.

Wasn't he MVP of the Elite 11 camp?

Then why doesn't he have more offers from top schools? I'm not saying he's a bad QB, I think Towles may be a better option if we get this guy. JMO.

Jason Hatcher has cancelled his visit to Louisville and will be back at Kentucky today with Ryan Timmons.

It will be great if we can flip him. Getting both would be huge.

Rumor of two commitments this weekend. No word on who yet.

ETA: Rumors are starting to leak about James Hearns and Marcus McWilson.

Both four stars. Both very solid pick ups as long as Hearns qualifies academically.

You know that doesn't mean anything, right?

He's already committed to a school. He has to break it in his own way to that school.

You can't take anything that a kid says on Twitter at face value.

Yes, I also know it means that other than him, no one knows shite. I can only base my opinion on what he says. I don't have sources.

I find it unreal that kids committed elsewhere take visits to other schools. I'm a fan of commit when you know for sure. No knock on him, just overall.

Actually I take it directly at face value. It's a 17-18 kid that is very popular saying whatever he wants usually to spark more interest. Building his brand if you will. I think he has a really tough decision. He could possibly win the Big 10 and playing in BCS games at Nebrska or he could come in and play from day one in the SEC. UK may eventually compete towards the top, but its a risk.

Not saying you do.

It's the reality of recruiting today. He's a soft verbal. That doesn't mean shite.

So, basically, you just confirmed that you can't take what a kid says on Twitter at face value.

I don't take what they say as fact, but I can't say they are committed when they say they aren't. That doesn't make sense.

He officially pulled his commitment from Nebraska this morning. We're in the lead for him.

I think we all knew this was coming. Still no commits as of now. I have to say, I really would like someone to pull the trigger because I'm afraid we will be left out in the cold on a few of these guys if we can't get them to commit.

I'm really excited about James Hearns. He's got a big body like Micah Johnson and play's the run pretty well. There are some things that I really don't like though that will hurt him in his first couple of years.

1. He doesn't take a great first step. He has a lot of wasted steps when he should attack the line of scrimage as soon as he sees the QB hand the ball off.

2.Also when a window is open to him he takes to long to get to the ball. He almost waits on the ball to get to the line of scrimage before he attacks. That will hurt him in the SEC because the running backs hit the hole so fast that it will put him in a bad position.

3. He also could have trouble defending the pass. I know he's an inside guy but when we play a team like bama he has to be able to cover the tide end that comes up releases into the middle zone. He's got great body style and he loves contact but he has a lot of technical work to get better on if he's going to help us win ball games.

Seems like the 1st issue could be worked out by fall. The other two may take some time. I actually think he could be one of the best gets in this class. I just hope he qualifies.

ETA:I think what Keith Kelsey does tomorrow may have an effect on Hearns. If we get him great, but if we don't then Hearns has to be a mortal lock.

Kelsey is a bit undersized at only 6-1 215*(I think) but is one heck of a player. He attacks the los as soon as he see's its a run and he fills holes like a man. His tackling is great and he could play early if he commits to the cats. Great pick up if we get him but he will have to put on some size in the next few years. Great kid though and has a nose for the ball. I WOULD NOT be dissapointed if we picked him up.

If we could get Hearns in the middle, dupree WLB, & Kelsey SLB we would have a great front 7 the next couple of years.
