The Gods honest truth is, Walker is overrated. Watched a lot of game film on the kid, and his ranking is solely based off of his "upside". Bama fans would admit that he is overrated as well IMO, before the decommitment.

Florida will likely close with one of Reed or Bostwick and Elijah Daniel. Those pickups will more than makeup for missing on Walker.

Allegedly. Word is that he has been holding off for so long because we didn't have a spot for him and he was waiting to see if one opened.

This guy thinks someone will care.

There have been numerous media types who follow Florida football closely trying to chase down the rumors that have had DeMarcus Walker enrolling early at Florida this week.

The Jacksonville Sandalwood defensive end, who self-proclaimed Facebook moniker is "Living Legend," has been committed to Alabama since August. Most recently, his Sandalwood coach Adam Geis and others close to him had said Walker (6-foot-3, 265 pounds) would likely be switching his commitment to Florida.

The smokescreen appears to be obvious now. Geis told Jacksonville's Florida Times Union on Monday night that Walker will enroll at Florida State on Tuesday, following newly hired Jeremy Pruitt from Alabama to Tallahassee, where Pruitt will be FSU's new defensive coordinator.

Geis told the TU, "[Walker] really got kind of nervous about going that far away from home. I think DeMarcus, in the end, felt more comfortable with Jeremy."

Which has to make people wonder what kind of NCAA violations could have been being broken during that courtship as Pruitt and Walker schemed to follow each other to FSU. The Florida smokescreen was obvious because it kept reporters off the FSU trail, as well as the trail of Pruitt, who was in South Florida helping prepare the Crimson Tide for their 42-14 shellacking of Notre Dame in the BCS title game.

Don't think those at 'Bama and perhaps even Florida won't be crying foul over this one. There's likely to be some kind of an investigation if for no other reason than to set things straight.

For now, however, it looks like FSU has pulled off the biggest coup of the recruiting season ... and many recruiting seasons gone by, for that matter. Even Jimbo Fisher has to be laughing about this one.

Walker is the No. 2-ranked strongside defensive end in the country by the 247Sports composite rankings and he is the 17th commitment to the FSU Class of 2013, which is ranked No. 12 overall by 247Sports.

Yes. Most Bama fans felt Walker was overrated. In fact, a lot only cared to hang onto him to help with Daub.

The author of this apparently doesn't know the old "glass houses" axiom. Bama and Florida won't say shite.

Was Jeremy Pruit coaching for Bama last night?... if so, that might've been an awkward post-game conversation on the way back to the hotel...

ETA: apparently he was... article touched on it... pretty ballzy of Pruitt... but then again, he learned from the best.

I doubt it, too. Alabama will always get more than their fair share.
