Will Mullen Move?

Mississippi State looked average all season, and horrible in their bowl game. It looks like Mullen has peaked in his attempt to grow the little Dawgs program.
With aTm looking good, and Auburn and Arky with new coaches, Missy State will struggle to be 5th best in the SEC West.
So will Mullen move on to another job soon?

He can stay at MSU as long as he wants to. He has at least made their football team competitive again. However, if he wants to progress in his career, he should be looking elsewhere. It's always going to be hard to recruit well enough at MSU to compete in the West.

Him moving on would be best for state while we still have hudspeth lined up. New coaches win with old players all the time. The age old "and wait until he gets HIS recruits in" is a complete joke. Something about a fresh slate and staff that didn't suck the current rosters cock to get commitments makes quite the difference. I would seriously argue many coaches would have had uga in the NC game this year even if it were their first season. There was that much talent that never meshed.

He overstayed. He should have already moved when he was a hot commodity.

8-4 isn't a bad record, but 4-4 in the SEC won't get him any opportunities to play the SECCG or in a BCS bowl. Si he has to accept the mediocrity or move. I think he will move after next year.
