I meant to say that was why we are seen as better than UGA despite the rankings. Academically I think UF and TAMU are pretty equal. It's hard to say which is better overall.

I agree. I have respect for our SEC companions at college station. I feel like Georgia is still a bit away from our level.

Is this your way of making yourself feel better after being humiliated on national tv because your team couldn't focus enough to beat Louisville and your fans apparently didn't care enough to show up?

Bad timing, actually. I am disappointed with the performance of the football team, but this thread is about academics right now, and I happen to think that Vandy Florida and aTm are the schools that shine to me in the SEC.

Well there ya go. Georgia is not on par with your institutions because, well, you "feel" UGA is still beneath you.

I can see how Florida became so powerful academically, given the capacity of its graduates to engage in such sound, irrefutable logic.

Mizzou has top be in the top 4 because they're an AAU school.

I have nothing against Mizzou being a top 4 school, but the logic here is terrible. ND wipes the floor with everyone in the SEC, but they are not an AAU school and don't care to be. Should Mizzou be ranked ahead of ND?

Just take a look at the list, tons of oddball names in there. Some of those schools got in and stay in by politics alone.

AAU membership is determined foremost by federal research dollars, which are heavily concentrated in the fields of engineering and medicine. Schools without schools in these areas may well be fine academic institutions with strengths in other areas.

Would everyone agree that the main purpose of a degre,e for most people, is to get a job (probably in the specific field the degree is in?)

Well global companies have ranked the quality of the applicants from various world wide universities. The data was independently gathered/verified. There are only 4 SEC schools in the Top 150, globally.

USC is #2 in the SEC!

#1 is aTm
#3 is Vandy
#4 is UF

Ha!!

You sound like an Ohio State Fan after they lost in 2006.

Yeah, but academics. Winning doesn't matter.

Show me a school that is bragging about their academic program and I'll show you someone who just lost.

Just because they get more funding from the fed govt for research doesn't mean they're a better school overall.

Pretty sure it's harder to get into UGA than Mizzou.

El oh el. We are almost even in academic rankings. The only reason y'all may be higher is because you have a more established engineering program while we just started one. Our academic admission requirements are almost identical.
