Warning: This thread if for grown arse men only. Lil boys who have not lived much or been down before or faced serious adversity need not apply.
Ok, SEC / college ball fans, this is important and pertinent information that you all should know while you keep bashing the great man that is Leslie Edwin Miles. Did you know that bout 8 yrs ago he had a headache that wouldn't go away and it became worse and he went to the doctor and they ended up finding a cyst on his brain that was causing deadly and damaging intra-cranial pressure and they had to do emergency brain surgery to remove a portion of his infected brain and relieve the pressure inside his skull?
Yep, obviously so few of ya'll know this, and embarrassingly I can safely say the same for many Tiger "fans" as well. Well, why is that, that no one knows this? Well, Les kept it as quiet as possible for various reasons. I personally think he is embarrassed of it. His wife (a very quiet person) once made a revealing comment that it has had a strong impact on him but she did not elaborate further.
My point here is not to make any sort of excuse for him or the team or whatever. I'm just relaying some very pertinent information. If you know anything about the science of the organ of the human brain, you might want to really think about this next time any of you decide to dog this man as if he were some piece of rotting shite on the ground. (and sadly, that includes many of my own fellow brethren, LSU "fans"). For this has obviously been something he battles internally and done pretty damn well considering the circumstances. It could easily explain some of his bizarre decisions under intense pressure. But yet he keeps trucking, bulldozing most, always with a disposition of class and love toward his fellow man.
Truth is I know for a fact that 99.9% of all of you (includes myself as well) wouldn't last one day in the life this man has intentionally chosen to attempt.
He is a walking deadman and could easily have gone to the the Spirit World by now and we would have lost this towering figure of college ball and exemplary role model of a human being forever. There are bigger and greater things than sports. Keep this in mind next time you are tempted to verbally abuse one of my favorite heroes of all time. Ask yourselves this, would you speak this way of Chuck Pagano? Again, lil boys who know not greatness or resolve or perseverance and their subsequent difficulties need not apply...
This is simply, for your information only. And it does not solely exempt him from criticism. He's an extremely strong man, he can handle it. And yes, he is paid a lot of money so it comes with the territory, somewhat. But I suggest we all look at this reality through the prism of objective truth and this important fact regarding his health. That might be the correct thing do do, ya kno. Just sayin. And the next time he beats you, think of all of this as well.

I hope LSU never fires Les.

Didn't read, what's your point? He's paid to win games. Part of the game is clock management.

This thread seems to pop up every time Les completely shits the bed.

So he's literally coaching with half a brain?
That explains a lot.
That explains a lot.

Is he really trying to compare Les Miles to Walter Bishop?

If it would have any effect on him, the MDs would say so and he wouldn't be paid what he is to coach at LSU. Fwiw, I have a little cousin who has had the same thing done. Very smart and completely normal kid. In fact, at 3 years old, he can already count the numbers on a clock...

So what you're saying is that LSU is hanging all their football hopes and aspirations (not to mention about 4 mil a year)on some brain damaged guy?

I've never attacked his character before, but I have disagreed with a lot of his coaching decisions (in a respectful way). And if this condition really handicaps his ability to coach as much as you claim, then he shouldn't be a coach. Personally, I'm satisfied with our winning percentage with him as our coach, but THE WAY we lose some of these games is the biggest problem. Bottom line is something has to change and it starts with the coaching...specifically on the offensive side.
