Been in Tejas with the family for the past few weeks. Just drove the ~730 miles back home from Houston today. Don't plan on doing a damn thing for the next few days.

At least it's a decent drive. I had to drive from Reno to Vegas. Which is about 450 miles of shitty nothing desert with an occasional 200 person town and a gas station, a military depot, or an air force base along a two lane highway.

Worst. Drive. Ever.

It sucks, but luckily traffic wasn't that bad once I got outside of Houston. Made the trip in just under 11 hours.

Thanks guys. I <3 all of you but Rig right now. PICK A TEAM YOU BASTARD.

And I have the flu and am out of commission until at least Thursday. It ruins half of my vacation which wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't spent the summer sick from the colitis and basically in bed/in and out of the hospital. I was supposed to go to Lexington next week to visit a friend of mine I haven't seen in a long time and his off days are going to fall while I'm still in the contagious zone.

The game didn't help at all. I have a headache from hollerin' at the TV (yes, I holler and occasional throw things). But the silver lining is that I think they started figuring some things out in the 2nd half when they were against the ropes. Fingers crossed that this is the start of that improvement we see.

Sounds like the drive from El Paso to the nearest city west. There isn't a whole lot of anything west of El Paso.

I'm glad you found a silver lining and hope you guys turn things around (just not against LSU or AU ). Hope you feel better soon and I'm sorry illness is ruining your break.

Too early for that. Keep a positive mentality and your body will do amazing things. I've never been out for longer than two or three days for anything that hasn't put me in the hospital. :knockwood:

You'll beat it. Stay positive, load up with way too much vitamin C, as much water as you can drink, and rest. If you can handle it, a hot toddy never hurt anybody either.

Probably premature to count yourself out for the next five days. Get better.

I hate driving to Houston. I-10 and I-20 both suck. I-59 in Texas sucks too.

Thanks. What's infuriating is how I got it.

My Aunt, who's been a stay at home Mom for almost 25 years now, came to our Christmas gathering knowing she had the flu but told everyone it was just "allergies". Merry fricking Christmas indeed.

Driving around Houston near Christmas is a nightmare. I have never seen such a stupidly large amount of traffic.

I remember it being a bitch when I went to Baton Rouge earlier in the year because they are CONSTANTLY working on I-10 and I-12. It wasn't bad today. Only traffic was just outside of Baton Rouge when I-10 went from 3 lanes to 1 (left lane went to I-110 and the right lane exited).

I'll admit I've done that before, but I try to avoid contact (even though I say I have "a cold")

True. But I wouldn't dare chance it and possibly give someone else this business. When I get sick it knocks me on my arse. I guess because I don't get sick all that often being around the snot nosed heathens at work.
