If were to have a SECrant quiz bowl team, let's just say Hardy_Har wouldn't even be an alternate.

Again, what the frick does this have to do with the question posed in the OP?

More successful = More likely
There really is no argument here. Freeze is doing awesome, but MSU is a couple years farther along right now. State has depth.. You tards know this is true, but if the shoe was on the other foot I wouldn't admit it either..

LSU had black students in early 50s.

Ok well we've been to the Sugar Bowl before, unlike State, so yeah I guess that means we've got better potential to reach a BCS bowl.

State has been to the Orange Bowl twice. Won it once.

Are we going back 3 years only because that is when State had a couple winning seasons....with only one being a decent year?

Why 3 years?

Fun fact. Since 1991 when the SEC created divisions, both teams have 132 wins. Dead even. Neither has won the SEC.

Neither will in the near future. Pointless thread is pointless.

I'm not an expert on the overall mentality of Mississippians, but it seems like Ole Miss is the Alabama of that state. If everything is going right at both schools, more in-state recruits are likely to choose Alabama over Auburn. Likewise, Ole Miss appears to have an edge over MSU. More tradition, more trophies, more money, more emotional pull.

Because Mississippi is so poor and because you also have Southern Miss fighting for in-state recruits, I think Mississippi State would have to be very bad for Ole Miss to be very good. If MSU keeps Mullen, I don't see them being very bad. But if Mullen decides to move on and MSU hires a stinker, the stars could line up and Ole Miss could have a chance.

I actually agree though with whoever said Vandy is more likely to win an SEC title first. Theoretically, if Franklin stays and if he continues building up that program, Vanderbilt is good enough of a school that they could recruit nationally, like Stanford. Neither Ole Miss nor MSU have those advantages. Also, if I had to choose between playing Alabama/LSU/A&M or Florida/Georgia/Carolina every year, I'd choose the latter.

USM really isn't a factor in state. OM or State get the elite talent.

Your state is still small though. That's the beauty of LSU and Louisiana. Only one major conference team in the state with too many small D-1 school for any of them to gain traction. Makes it easier to establish a lock on in-state recruits.

Oh I agree with that. Just wanting to point out that USM only gets the players the other two pass on.

More successful how? More successful when?

Your argument is that of the past three years. Ours is all time. What do you think is more valuable in determining which program has more potential?

Yeah, y'all looked much farther along for sure.

We've only been once and lost it.

We've been to the Sugar Bowl eight times. Won five.

Hell, when was the last time they had a winning record in SEC play?

The correct answer is Ole Miss in Freeze's third year IF CJ and Moncrief return for their senior seasons... Now excuse me, I have to finish chugging this glass of red and blue cyanide Koolaid
