State, we've been only one quarter away from doing so before.

Integration

It's much, much more than just that.

Remember, Ole Miss allowed black students before Alabama, LSU, State, Auburn, etc. Yes, that was a part of it, as was Vaught's being a bigot, but our athletics administration has been pretty damn awful for the past few decades. That also has a lot to do with it.

It has been 20 years and neither Ms. team has yet to win the West out right, both have tied for first place once.

State in 1998.

Ole Miss in 2003.

Bama, yes.

Can't say we're scared of LSU at all.

Has to be Ole Miss, they have more history of success and a better fan base, I'd rather play there. Plus State has the worst record over the history of their program out of all the SEC teams, they have very little history of success againse any team opposed to Ole Miss.

I'd disagree with this just a bit. The Orgeron hire was done not only to try and infuse some talent into the school (which he did. See the 2008 and 2009 players that went in the draft), but to get a coach that had an opposite style as Cutcliffe. When Orgeron failed to turn that talent into wins and showed he was a much better recruiter than a coach, they went straight back to the "Good Ole Boy" system and hired Nutt. Nutt then proceeded to take a ton of NFL talent and produce two 9-4 seasons.

State fan logic:

1 divisional title >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anything Ole Miss has done in the history of it's program

Pretty well, considering that we pushed the national champs to the brink -- and led with 7:00 to go in the 4th quarter.

In the 20 years of the SEC title game, no team has come closer to knocking off the Big6 than Mississippi State did in 1998. DWI.

What's that say about Florida? They sure can't seem to beat Ole Miss or State.
