Tough for me to say. But I'll say MSU. What saith the SEC Rant?

Neither but I'll say ole miss because I'm a homer.. How's that for an answer

Ole Miss. The only time Mississippi State came close to winning a SEC title was when Alabama, LSU, and Auburn was down. Throw Texas A&M to the mix and I don't see them sniffing a SEC title anytime soon. For Ole Miss, they only need two of the big three (Bama, LSU, Auburn) to be down to win. Ole Miss had really good teams in 2003 and 2008 when LSU won a national championship and Bama went 12-0 in the regular season. They can deal with one of those programs being really good. They just can't afford both of them to be good at the same time.

That's pretty honest. But you have to think eventually one of those two teams will win one.

You would think but let's not get ahead of ourselves here..

When was the last time one of them won an SEC title?
Posted on 12/29/12 at 6:54 am to Ted2010
Our last one came in the 60s

Wow! That long huh? I know Ole Miss was very good in the 60's and won a MNC. What happened to cause them to do a complete 180 since then?

Ole Miss. State will never win the SEC Championship again

Did it really affect Ole Miss that badly? And what about MSU? Have they ever had a period where they were really good? Someone yesterday posed MSU's record vs Bama and it was 17-75 or something close to it. Unreal.

Neither. MSU is the Auburn of the state but not nearly as good as Auburn and Ole Siss has become content just being the drunks of the SEC.

Late 30s early 40s. We didn't become a terrible program until Vaught started coaching at OM. We were awful in the 50s and 60s. We had some good years in the mid 70s early 80s. Then bad, then good under Sherrill.
We went 10-0-1 in 1940 and won the Orange Bowl. Went 8-1-1 the next year and won the SEC. Had some other good years around those including another Orange Bowl appearance. Then we were good in the late 90s from 96-2000. Winningest team in the West those years and also won the west in 98.

Ole Miss. Bc they can get the talent there, just need a few breaks.
Ms State is a dumpster fire and will always be such. Should be conf usa, but they are a remainder from when Bama and LSU kept them for an easy conference win.

Neither will ever win the SEC again.

Sort of integration. Really it was more of the administration not moving forward. The good ol boys ruled this school up until Freeze got here. Coaches werent hired because they were the best person for the job. They were hired to please the good ol boy system. I'm talking from AD's down. Dan Jones had to step on some "old money" toes with these new hires. But I think the progress is showing. Him and Bjork are changing the culture.

Once Saban leaves, we will get back to beating Bama on a regular basis. From 96-2007 we split.

I think its possible for either to win one. LSU fans seem to forget that spell of years where they sucked. They were just a average team. I wanna say it was from around 1986 to 2001. The best bowl game they had during those years was like the Gator Bowl or something. Saban came along and changed the program.
USCe was also in a stretch of tough years. From 1990 to 1998 they had only three winning seasons. Holtz/Spurrier came along and built them into what they are now. All the while they are in a relatively small state with another major college in Clemson.
The point is it can happen at either of the schools. I'd say if I had to choose Ole Miss just because for whatever reason traditionally its been the easier school to get top talent to. (The talent from the female side is 2nd to none)
