TA&M needs to beat OU bad cause if you don't the ND folks are going to get a real big lift. (Max use of transitive property theory). My biggest concern with TAMU is the Heisman curse. Its real easy to get caught up in that one. See about 20 former Heisman's. Little Johnny needs to be busting his arse in pre-bowl practice. Any of you Aggies have insight on this?

Let's look at the previous Heisman winners:

2011 - Griffin: Won bowl game (Alamo)
2010 - Newton: Won national title
2009 - Ingram: Won national title
2008 - Bradford: Lost national title
2007 - Tebow: Lost bowl game (Capital One)
2006 - Smith: Lost national title
2005 - Bush: Lost national title
2004 - Leinart: Won national title
2003 - White: Lost national title
2002 - Palmer: Won bowl game (Fiesta)
2001 - Crouch: Lost national title
2000 - Weinke: Lost national title
1999 - Dayne: Won bowl game (Rose)
1998 - Williams: Won bowl game (Cotton)
1997 - Woodson: Won bowl game (Rose)
1996 - Wuerffel: Won national title
1995 - George: Lost bowl game (Citrus)
1994 - Salaam: Won bowl game (Fiesta)
1993 - Ward: Won national title
1992 - Torretta: Lost national title

By my count, the last 20 Heisman winners (not including Manziel) are 11-9 in bowl games.

In his press conference last week, Coach Sumlin addressed the issue and was relieved that the game wasn't until January 4th. He said that if it was closer to Christmas, there would have been a problem.

Of that list, the 8 winners that didn't play for the national championship are 6-2, FWIW.

After all the success the Aggies had in the SEC this year, there is a good reason TAM is favored over OU.

We also know the Longhorns wanted nothing to do with the Aggies from the SEC this year and would have tried to block a matchup in the Cotton Bowl if they had been invited--Good Luck!
