Before the start of this season, UGA was returning their entire defense so UGA fans said they would have the best defense in the SEC in '12. They end up with the #12 rushing D, the #6 total D, and the #6 scoring D. That's in the conference, not nationally.

Their offense has always been inconsistent, their OL has always underachieved even with All-SEC and All-American OL, and typically half the UGA fanbase has #fireBobo in their sigs. Has Murray REALLY shed his rep for underachieving in big games with his win over UF? I'll need to see it to believe it....

Only a bama fan would say an O-line returning ONLY TWO STARTERS would be one of the best in the nation.

Were they both all americans last year? They must have been no less than 1st team all sec for you to make such a statement.

You do realize Alabama had to replace three offensive linemen when they won the SEC and National Championship. They had to replace Marlon Davis, Andre Smith, and Antoine Caldwell. That's a center, guard, and left tackle.

Alabama is actually in a better situation for 2013 than they were in 2009. They already have a good idea of who the starting LG and C will be with Arie Kouandjio and Ryan Kelly. The talent level is better and a the backups got plenty of experience this season due to blow out wins.

I know Clemson is not the best on D, but I have a feeling the LSU offense on Monday is going give the SEC a few things to worry about in 2013

LSU returns their QB, AT LEAST 3 of 5 RBs inlcuding the top 2 (Blue & Hill), every WR, a TE who is somewhat of a threat in the passing game unlike Clement, and the Oline should be improved.

I believe the offense will be the best since 07. That's not saying much though.

How many tide fans felt the bama O-line of '09 was one of the best in the nation going into the season?

Homer pick here - but SC and Spurrier are getting very close to hitting their stride. We return a ton next year, at all positions, and Shaw will be a senior, Dylan Thompson just a Jr., the whole offensive line except for our center, WRs, loaded at TE, RB.

I just have a feeling we are going to do very well next year. Spurrier seems to be getting in a grove and we averaged right at 30 pts a game this year.

CyKo is widely considered a first round pick if he were to leave after his Junior season, and Steen is a top 20 Guard right now. Ryan Kelly made the Freshman All-SEC team, and Fluker could stay, but even if he didn't experienced backup Austin Shepherd would battle JUCO transfer Leon Brown and beast of a man Brandon Hill for the job. Potentially Laremy Tunsil as well.

The thing is you posted with just steen and c kouijo returning bama would have one of the BEST O-lines in the country. So, leave fluker out of the equation. He's gone acording to your OP.

What do you consider one of the best in the nation to be? Top 5? Top 10?

To me one of the best in the nation is at least Top 5. With only those two returning, no way bama has a Top 5 O-line heading into the season.

From everything I'm seeing posted about other SEC O-lines on here I'm not sure if bama has one of the top 5 O-lines in the SEC in '13.

This was going to be my next point. Of course we can speculate on who will have the top offense but there is still a lot of time for UGA to have some suspended players. They shouldn't count their chickens before they hatch or they will eat a lot of shite again next season.

I am going to say LSU.

Mett started playing much better in the 2nd half of the year. They return their best RB. Have talent at WR. Return a lot of OL.

Crispy...the question for 500.00 "the best defense in the SEC in 2013" and answer is UF.

History says otherwise. For the last 5 years in a row Alabama has led the SEC in total defense. Hell this year was supposed to be the rebuilding year and Bama is still #1 in the nation in total defense.

Look at where our suspensions have been. Rambo, Ogletree, etc..guys that aren't the brightest bulbs. Nobody on our offense has been in a lick of trouble. Murray, Gurley, Mitchell, Bennett, Lynch, and our whole OL are high character guys that have never been in trouble. Based on history, odds are high that we'll have a suspension or 2, but my bet would be it'll be on defense.

We return 11 frickin starters on offense. We will be insanely good.

Not saying Ole Miss will have the best next year, but they will be up there. Anyone that has followed Rebel football since Freeze was hired knows this year he was only going about 50% of the pace he normally likes to run. With Bo Wallace more comfortable and Freeze more time to implement this offense over the offseason, this offense could be even more excited and dangerous.
