Once agin they stiffed the Cats
Must play at St. John's
Must play at Uconn
Yet another year whey they must play all their tournament games at a site at least 8 hours drive from Lexington. Will probably be another year of homer refs when UK plays Uconn

Game #1 in the NCAA
#2 Kentucky vs #15 Navy on Sunday March 24th @ 12:05 pm
Game will be played in Queens, NY on Saint John's home floor (Carnesecca Arena - capacity 5,602) which would be at least 2,000 fewer seats than Memorial and was not sold out as of this post.
to the NCAA for crapping on UK yet another post season!
2012 = 3,900 miles and 59.0 hours of drive time for BBN and UK was a #2 seed
Lexington, KY to Ames, IA = ~700 miles and 10.5 hours
Ames, IA to Kingston, RI = ~1,300 miles and 19.5 hours
Kingston, RI to Denver, CO = ~1,900 miles and 29.0 hours
2011 = 4,700 miles and 69.0 hours of drive time for BBN and UK was a #4 seed
Lexington, KY to Albuquerque, NM = ~1,400 miles and 20.0 hours
Albuquerque, NM to Spokane, WA = ~1,300 miles and 20.0 hours
Spokane, WA to Indianapolis, IN = ~2,000 miles and 29.0 hours
As for the opposition :
Navy once dominated the NCAA Rifle competition but now the Cats have become the challenger to the throne taking 1 title and boasting several runner ups. Why does this matter? Because the Cats in basketball have gone from the cellar to the brink of challenging for a NC. While I may appreciate everything the Navy does outside of basketball this is one place I would not mind them not winning.
The Midshipmen went 12-11 overall and 11-3 in the Patriot league and has an RPI of 102 and a SoS of 198. Several bad losses and no real quality wins. The Cats will be the first team they have faced all season that is actually in the NCAA. My spidey sense tells me this could be a 20 pt margin win for the Cats or MM could use everybody sparingly and save the energy for the round #2 game, For comparison UK has an RPI of 8 and a SoS of 13. Up to this point UK has played (16) sixteen games against teams in this years NCAA tourney and had at least a dozen quality wins against ZERO bad losses.
A throwback to another time, this Navy team is no "1 and done" but a "stay and play" before going on to serve our country even further outside the basketball court. In an odd twist Navy seems to be an all white women's basketball team.
As for the players they stick pretty much with their starting 5 and not much production off the bench. My guess is they will concentrate on defense with a low point total when it is all said and done. Should be a win for the Cats and if Dayton can take out St Johns it will eliminate the home court advantage for the Red Storm.
