Seems like the SEC is a lot more thuggish recently.
You've got LSU players being kicked off the team for drugs, Jordan Jefferson going around stomping guys heads in, Georgia suspending most of their defense for 2 or 3 games earlier in the season for God knows what, Auburn players robbing trailer parks at gun point.Seems like most of the major SEC coaches have lost control of their programs and it's giving the conference a bad image nationally.I'm pretty tired of it.
You don't have to recruit thugs to win, just look at Alabama. We've hardly had any arrests under Saban and still manage to win.

If smoking weed makes you a thug then every fraternity at Bama is full of thugs

Sigh...18 year olds are gonna act up all over the country. We don't recruit any different kids that Texas, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, or anywhere else does. Except the BYUs and Utahs.

Smoking a blunt mainly. Other suspensions in the Richt era include:
-backing into a parked car in a parking garage
-not paying a speeding ticket
-giving a false name after shooting off fireworks
-touching a pregnant girl's belly
-taking someone's scooter helmet
-passing out drunk in the Amici's bathroom
-driving the wrong way on a scooter down a 1 way street (the section in question turns from 2 way into 1 way for about 50 yards)
Yeah, we really do have some thugs don't we.

Looks like Richt cares about his players as future men, not just as players. Therefore he cares about them being good people off the field after they graduate.
Props to him

I just don't remember hearing about players in other conferences getting high on spice and going out robbing trailer parks at gunpoint.Maybe it happened and I just didn't hear about it.

So Saban letting them smoke weed, makes them less thuggish. And Les kicking off players means he recruits thugs.
I have a question for you.
Why would you recruit a kid who you could tell you'd end up kicking off the team?

duh. The largest thug population is in the south. There's a large population of thugs when talking about the best players, and we get the best players. Of course we recruit more thugs.

UT players under Dooley robbed a gas station.
They also got in a bar brawl and kicked a police officer in the head.
A UF player shot off an AK in a parking lot, and their head coach showed up to fight at a fraternity.
Another one stole a dead girl's credit card and used it.
Another told a girl it was time to die.
Bad shite happens everywhere.
