They prolly run the table in their old conference...bad timing.

Don't you know the SEC tag makes teams 50% better than they would be otherwise?

Moving to the SEC motivated them to improve their program. If they stay in the bevo12, Sherms is still the coach, and they're still losing in the 2nd half.

aTm is so proud of being in the SEC though. I think they would rather go 10-2 and win a cotton bowl in the SEC than win it all in the Big12.

why do people keep saying this? its 100% not true. we have a terrible secondary that would have been torn to shreds in the big 12 passing offenses. we probably would have the same record as we do now

This. The program has finally begun to realize its potential. Just needed a reason.

Nope. Undefeated ND and undefeated Alabama.

Basically, if we would have gotten our arse kicked in the SEC, we should have stayed in the Big 12 because it is an easier conference

But...if we won 10 games this year...we also should have stayed in the Big 12 because it is an easier conference

Makes sense. We've only had 1,024 threads on this topic though. I think we should have at least 5 per day through the new year.

KState was above ND when they were undefeated. Domers would have been the odd man out.

Not necessarily. KState started ahead of ND. ND started ahead of Texas A&M.

You have got to be kidding me. Our defense is not as bad as you proclaim it to be. Last year it appeared to suck in the Big XII because our offense put our D in bad spots (turnovers, and multiple 3 and outs in the second halves of games).

However, had we stayed in the Big XII, we probably would have kept Sherm for one more year as already stated. He would have likely started Showers over Manziel and who knows how the season would have ended.... we also would have been able to keep Bralon Addison instead of losing him to Oregon after Sherm was fired. There are too many variables, but we would have had a great shot.

With that being said, I would much rather be where we are now (in the SEC with a Heisman trophy winner).

If we stayed in the Big 12, Sherman doesn't get fired for farting away that last game to Texas. Johnny Football would be a backup QB who mostly plays WR like how Sherman did with Tannehill behind Jerrod Johnson. That means it would take Showers arm falling off or JFF transferring before he ever got to start at QB.

Dies ist sicherlich Deutschen, aber ich werde sowieso reagieren.

No. You don't understand the SERIOUS media bias in Texas. The Longhorn-centric media spin would be that undefeated A&M is the product of a "down year" in the Big 12.

How do I know this will happen? Because it happened for years in the 80s and 90s. We are ALSO getting a lot of spin NOW that the SEC is down, or that the Big 12 is better.

So no, we would not be playing for an NC. We would be an "average team in a down big 12" just like before.

frick THE BIG TWATEVER.

What are people going to say next year when ATM loses 3 games? Should have stayed in the big 12?

I have a feeling that it is going to be tough for ATM to shake the "What if/Big 12" label... May take a while.

Well, according to Big Twatever homers, we would have had 4 losses in the Big Twatever this year, so take that for what it's worth...

The best point in this thread so far..

even if A&M did run the table -> Bama vs. ND in the natty championship.

/end of discussion

..but yes, would rather go 10-2 in SEC than 12-0 in Big wtf.

It's because they think they are outshining UT, which granted this year they did. Give it a few years and I think the glow wears off and they start bitching like everyone else on here.
