I have yet to meet a Notre Dame fan that actually went to Notre Dame. And I know a few.

Not really that surprised, it's been decades since they've had this chance, it's against a major name opponent that they have history with, and there are probably ND fans all over the country.

their growing fanbase is correlated to the Pope's policy on contraception. millions of potential Bama fans regularly die in the reservoir tip.

The crazy thing is they charged 25 bucks to put in a request, so they made 2.5 Million from requests.

Notre Dame is not a very large school. Current enrollment is around 11,000 and I can't imagine it was larger in the past.

Not surprising. Isn't ND like 40K a year?

Not very surprising. Small enrollment with alumns scattered nationally and one of the largest fanbases in cfb.

I have a "love-hate" relationship with the subway (that's what ND calls them, because they kind of originated in NYC, not that it makes a difference) alumni.

I'm from NE Indiana, and everyone up there are ND fans, including Chicago. Most of them only when they are winning.

I knew a guy in high school that went to Notre Dame.

That's the only one I know out of the handful of irish fans I know.

Surprising number considering the size of the school. Maybe w ND getting in, this will postpone the Mayan apocalypse which is due in 2 days.

I mean the link to the report where over 100,000 ticket requests...

It's been so long since ND been anywhere post season, these folks may not know that most tix are selling around $1500 for upper seats. They prolly wanted free ones from the ND AthDept.

Unlike the Alabama fans, they haven't realized the Championship game was played about two weeks ago.

where ya been? apocalypse has been postponed per mayan descendents who claim the date was misinterpreted. oh well, we still have the hopi and there's always nostradamus to fall back on. all and all there's not much time left to buy weapons and ammo.
