C'mon, dude. I can see Virginia, but UNC ain't coming. NC State is the SEC's only option to grab the Tarheel boys for the Dixie Normous Conference ("D.N.C.").

St Louis doesn't give two shuts about Mizzou. It's Kansas City that brings out the Zou

This is a reason why I cann't see UNC ever coming to the SEC: Unless it's changed, a major donor/landowner who gave the land for the stadium to the school had it put in the sales contract that UNC can never have the stadium taller than the surrounding trees. While it makes for a beautiful setting, one of the nicest I've ever seen, that is a killer when it comes to increasing football revenue, as the stadium will always be O.Miss'ish. Cann't see the Noles being allowed to come because of the gators thumbs down vote.

This is false. St. Louis is definitely very pro-Mizzou, in KC there is kU 45 miles from the city... in StL all you find are a very few scattered Illini fans.

Yeah, A&M would vote in the thumbs-down group for a Florida State or Clemson bid because we want equal treatment if there is ever a blOwU or burnt-orange butthurt bid.

Most of you are right: UNC will not leave the ACC for the SEC, all things being equal. That's the point of a move towards NC St/VT. If UNC gets wind that those two are ready to jump ship, there's little left of the conference for UNC to salvage (FSU/Clemson bolt under that scenario, too). Then UNC reaches out to the SEC while they're vulnerable and the SEC takes them (and pairs them w/ whoever, it hardly matters... UNC will prob name Duke). The B1G is playing a similar game w/ Notre Dame.

Slive didn't get to where he is by playing checkers, he's playing chess.

I wish the SEC hadn't expanded beyond 12 teams. Nothing against TAMU or Mizzou, I just liked things the way they were.

unc womens soccer has won 21 of the total 31 ncaa championships. I dont know much of sec soccer but unc cares a lot about other sports besides football. The school is one of the most valuable in the nation. Will be almost an impossible get unless the acc does a big east

Yeah, that's just nuts. Sure, St. Louis is a baseball town and loves the Cardinals. But, there's definitely a HUGE number of Mizzou fans there, it would be the predominant college.

that stadium was built in 1927.

If it was really that big an issue they could simply use eminent domain.

It seats 63,000 so its not like its small for a school that focuses on basketball.

I sometimes still miss the unbridled hate from the old SWC but the days of purely regional conferences being successful are over.

You know how y'all get all hot and bothered when people talk about breaking the Bama/Tennessee rivalry with permanent opponents?

Yeah. Imagine Tobacco Road's reaction to UNC going to the SEC.

True, but you have to remember that Bama fans are insane. There are some out there that think ESPN was out to get us, days after they aired our on spring game on national TV. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

SEC doesn't have men's soccer. That's why South Carolina Soccer teams play in C-USA.

Getting UNC and Dook is half as good as getting UNC and a team from Virginia. It makes little sense.

This article explains why VT and NC State would be just as good or better than UNC and anybody else, and especially Dook.
