Can we get a list of restaurants/bars/shopping from those of you familiar with the area?

Scheduled events:
Saturday Jan.5th
-- The Orange Bowl Experience is slated for Saturday, Jan. 5 on South Beach. It will be set up between 6th and 9th Street on Ocean Drive. Both schools' bands will be there for was described as a "big pep rally."

Sunday Jan.6th
-- The next day, will be a full day of music, bands, etc., in the same spot. A yet-to-be-determined "major international music star" will be the headliner.

Monday Jan.7th
-- On game day, country music star Luke Brian will perform at the Orange Bowl Fan Zone Experience.

Can you only imagine the stuff a bama fan is going to get arrested for, while on that south florida bath salt?

Eta. TnM would be one to ask, but he probably won't help

If anyone is going to the keys, I can advise.

Little Haiti has great restaurants. Make sure to go after dark to see all of the cool lights. Check out Opa-Locka and Miami Gardens for dessert, as they're known for their bakeries.

sure thing Mobtro.....

Since you are a Bama fan, there are no Jack's Hamburger joints, but there are plenty of McDonalds.

There are also an abundance of Walmart's and Target's for your shopping enjoyment.

Other ideas:

Lots of good dining off 79th street west of I-95. Lot of stuff going on between 63rd and 79th in Liberty City. Highly recommended for nice a night out.

lived in Miami for a year and a half...

restaurants

Joe's Stone Crabs- one of the more famous places
8oz Burger Bar- very good burgers
The Daily- amazing sandwiches
Garcia's- great seafood, reasonable prices

places

Bayside Marketplace- shops/restaraunts
Coconut Grove- shops/restaurants
Dolphin Mall- giant mall
Lincoln Road Mall- on south beach, shops/restaurants
The Village at Merrick Park- shops/restaurants

clubs

South Beach has a ton of clubs if that's what you want/like

downtown bars

Tobacco Road (my favorite)
Finnegan's River (close 2nd)
Waxy O'Connors

the coconut grove area also has a ton of restaurants/bars that are good and much more laid back than South Beach
