Everyone in the Auburn circle seems to think that Gus has been the guy since the search started and Kirby was interviewed as a backup

According to Mike Ferrell's (sp?) sources, Kirby had a contract offer and it was thought he would accept. Something happened.

Kirby turned down $2M+. Not sure if there is another job that makes sense for him, or if he was reassured what he's thought all along - Bama is his when Saban leaves.
Either way, he was offered in the $2.3M/year range. Glad to hear he's staying. Hate that he considered it to the point of negotiation.

Hey, WTF is this??
