this morning rumors that he was the leading choice, backed by Dye, and that he was offered.

no later than 4 hours later, Malzahn is named head coach.

Guy on PAWL implies that there was an interview, but Smart was never offered.

Kinda like Gruden and Tennessee.

The real question is what happened with Petrino. Did they pursue him or not?

Why would he take the job here when both Alabama and Georgia will be opening up within a few years? It's not like he's not already raking it in as DC at UA.
