As a Georgia fan, that game was way too painful for it to be enjoyable. But......... if it was any other team playing, or if Bama and Georgia's roles were reversed......well.......That, right there, is the type of game I am hoping to see whenever I sit down to watch a football game.

Instant classic.

You can point at the consecutive SEC BCS titles and draw some obvious conclusions about the strength and passion in this league, but that game last Saturday says even more in my opinion.

Thats just about as good as football gets right there...

What sucks most is to imagine that if Murray completes that fade and Malcolm makes the catch, we would have just witnessed the greatest game in UGA history, not to mention the greatest comeback.

And Aaron Murray would have overcome every single one of his demons in one game......like it was written in a Hollywood movie script......

Man...re-watching that play, if Gurley woulda got to the corner & engaged Mosley we might be bitchin' about hotel prices & airline rates to Miami....

Oh well, I agree it's an instant classic, hella game...

I just hope this is a springboard to better things vs when Saban made Urban quit after that '09 SECCG loss...

Even more pissed off after watching the last play! Dude we had NO shot making anything happen on that call. Don't know if it was dumb luck or Bama expected that call...but they had 3 freakin defenders on Mitchell and Conley and MM was covered like a blanket...we had ZERO chance of success. I DO NOT want CMR tell us again that they had the right play called.

I agree Jefferson. I was screaming hobnail boot during the entirety of that last drive. This time it didn't work out though. A hobnail would have taken the Dawgs to another level just like the one against UT did.

Solid post, dude! Instant classic indeed!

Wasn't he at the extreme front right of the endzone?

He (Mitchell) was in a tiny corner in the front of the endzone with the Bama defender RIGHT behind 'em...there is absolutely NO ROOM to get the ball into him...

I think we paid for the "Hob Nailed Boot" or "Lindsey Scott" or some other miraculous play with this game....I ain't supestitous but UGA has had some truly miracle finishes in the past and this one went against us....so the way I see it the fates owe us one! GO DAWGS!!!

I agree, this was one of the best games I have ever watched. I kinda covered my eyes and groaned when they kept gashing us up the middle running the ball, but an instant classic all the same. I told my ND fan at work that the National Championship game was played in Atlanta Saturday and the winner has been determined. I guarantee the Natty won't be half as spectacular as the SECCG was.

It was Mitchell vs Millner in single coverage. Never know what happens if the ball gets there, they are both great athletes and either one had a play on it. The linebackers were squatting on the goal line and the other DB had Conley. That was the right read with single coverage and our best athlete against their best athlete.

ETA: This has to be what USC fans felt like when they got Vinced in the 2005 NC game.
