Kirby Smart a Smoke Screen to Keep Recruiting Class Intact?

Just want to throw this out there. Maybe the rumors of Smart as the next HC are a smoke screen to keep recruits like Liner from jumping ship to Bama, at least temporarily?
Dead period will be here soon, so this should create some hesitancy for any recruit thinking of pulling a Yeldon if he thinks the Bama coaches may not be there next year?

I mean seriously guys, you want me to believe that our administration is interviewing the DC of our in-state rival who has no other HC experience because they think he's one of the best choices for the job?

The whole "lowering hopes so Petrino seems like Jesus" argument seems much more plausible.
