Then there was also Saban in the first half. Taking 2 TOs in to the locker room.

Our clock management didn't make a wr make a mental error and catch a ball that was tipped at the line. Even if we clocked it and ran the same play with 10 seconds left the result would be the same.
And the playcall was fine, it was a fade to back that would either be a td or thrown out the back of the Endzone.

Richt is going to get too much heat for that decision. Hindsight is 20-20.
I 100% understand what he was going for there. You have Bama on the ropes after moving the ball 80 yards in a minute. You don't want to let them collect themselves and substitute. The ball got tipped and our receiver made an instinctive play that cost us. Shite happens.
I don't necessarily agree with the decision, but I understand it.

Richt had a pretty good defense for not clocking it: Bama was tired and clocking it would let them substitute fresh guys. They felt they had the matchups they wanted in that sitution and went with it. Whoever it was that tipped it at the lin ejust made a good play

This reminds me of a thread I need to bump about why LSU fans are attacking Richt's clock management which wasn't really that bad.

this, all the way. and people need to quit blaming conley. i mean who the frick doesn't instinctly try to catch the ball in the heat of the moment?
anyway, it was a bold move that, while i disagreed, made enough sense to at least try. it fricked up, WAG, and life goes on.
