There have been numerous stories on the internet, conversation on Paul Finebaum, talk radio, that Auburn coach, Trooper Taylor, had been taken off the road for recruiting because of charges. NOTHING, nothing, could be further from the truth. Trooper is and has been on the road recruiting. There is zero, nothing, in his file, folder, accusing him of anything illegal by NCAA or other standards. The assumption is that Alabama is the basis of many of these false inaccurate stories. NOT direct from Trooper, but nearly as close...... Trooper is recruiting full spead and has good relationship with several of the names mentioned as head coach except for one,1, individual, who I don't think would leave his present job, anyway. Trooper and his family loved Knoxville, area, and his association with The University of Tennessee. Dan Williams called the other day and during his conversation said that he, too, had talked with Trooper. Trooper keeps up with many of the players he has coached, recruited.
This fact, about Trooper not being taken off the road is posted for one reason only. The truth, as regards Trooper being taken off the road. .......

UT forum thread
Folks Troop will get a job, could be at UT.

Your kidding all of the cheating rumors about Trooper and the personal trashing of the guy are just made up by people that hate Auburn? Makes you wonder why so many stupid AU fans believe this crap in the first place. All Trooper has done is bring excitement and great players to Auburn. Nice Post!

Very strange post on his part but yea he's right I guess. Trooper said a month ago that there was nothing true about that story and he has been visiting high school football games all throughout the recruiting process this year.

Yeah but....the NCAA!...they was in Auburn I tell ya! I don't even give a shite at this point. Even if the NCAA was going to sanction us it'd be little shite like a few scholly reductions or maybe even of the recruiting type.

I really don't think anything will come of this most recent "investigation" but I would be ok with trooper leaving. I'm just tired of even being perceived as "thuggish"

Whether some of that persona is unjust or not, trooper still brings that. There are other wide receiver coaches out there

He is a damn good recruiter thought and I would love this defensive class stick

We are going to be percieved as thugish no matter what we do or who is recruiting for us. If Auburn gets top recruits it is because we buy them. Let's be honest we say the same thing about uat when they do well recruiting we say it is because they cheat. Gumpdykes think the same of us. When 70% of the people in your own state think you are thugish then you will not shake the reputation.

As a fan base we need to just not care what others think. Auburn is never going to be liked, or the good guy or popular, but what does it matter.

I don't have anything against any of the staff, but I would like a fresh start.

I just hope the new coach doesn't get pressure to keep someone or we may not get a coach worth a shite.

Honestly, I don't remember being perceived as thuggish before this staff was here

Not that it really matter, just saying, we aren't "always" perceived that way

Dude who are you trying to convince? Everybody that is anybody knows that the hammer is about to fall on AU. This is just a lame attempt to make it look like no one is worried. AU admins figure it can't get any worse so we might as well act like we aren't worried and put the guys on the road.

DUH!

Yep. And like I said the other day, Aubies taking up the bama talking points really annoys me. Gumps trash anything and anyone that is good for AU. I have seen it over and over and a mountain gets made of a molehill. Bobby Lowder and Pat Dye have done more for AU than maybe any two people ever associated with AU. Yet now they are vilified and the gump talking points get repeated by Aubies. EXACT same for Trooper now. It is sad IMO.

Well, to be honest, some of my disdain for Trooper actually comes from a former Auburn coach, so it isn't all hot air from rival fans.

Samething when Chiz came in. I am not going to have a revisionist history of my thought processes regarding Chiz. I had doubts at first when he was hired, then in 2009 I was calmed. it's obvious 2010 changed Chiz for the worse. But his principals of not retaining anyone from Tubs staff because of the losing attitude inside the program, was what was needed then and now.

This has little to do with Bama talking points. Lowder has done much harm to Auburn along with the good by taking out personal vendettas and hurting our academics in the process (and I'm not talking about SACs in particular here). If you are speaking in just an athletic perspective, then sure that's true of Lowder, but unfortunately he took part in more than just football.

Dye on the other hand has gotten disdain for being a drunken idiot in his older years, and the posters on these boards are mostly too young to remember what Auburn football was like in the years before he came, and what all he did for us back in the 80s. If Dye wasn't going on Finebaum constantly making himself look a fool, then you wouldn't hear any bad said of him.

Wasn't TennStud on the cutting edge of throwing Troop under the NCAA bus just a few weeks ago.

Seems that now that ol' Troop could potentially be a Vol again, it's rehab-Troop time!

Much like UGA fans who just *knew* Rodney Garner was a "bag man" when he coached at AU and UT, but immediately rehab'ed himself upon his arrival in Athens!

Exactly, in fact it was TennStuds original post on Memphis that started a lot of the rumors on Bama Boards, Fbaum and of course he was one of Danny Sheridumn's sources... Folks hate on Trooper, but no-one can ever say what he did that was dirty. You would think that eventually Auburn people would learn.
