SEC vs the BCS

Because of the rules that had to be agreed upon before some conferences would accept the BCS system, the SEC's excellence is screwing over member teams.
Sorry UGA. You were good enough to take Bama to the wire, but Northern Illinois gets in because of too many teams like Boise and Utah crying about not getting a BCS game auto qualifying bid.
Sorry TAMU, LSU, and USC. You get left out over teams like Florida State, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma. Partially because of the worry of conferences like the Big 10, Big East, Pac 10, and ACC. They demanded a spot at the table every year even if their champs are disgustingly mediocre.
So thank the BCS system, SouthEastern Conference members and college football fans. You get some horrible bowls this year because the weak have to be protected. Even in a rough and tumble sport like football.

Everyone here crucified Coach Saban for his comments regarding the 2nd place finisher at the SECCG. Here and in the media he was roundly ridiculed for having ulterior motives. Now you derps are acting like this is new info and are seemingly caught unawares.

The week before the game Saban was belly aching about the runner-up and you know it...Muschamp called him on it and it is true.

The fact that the Dawgs took the Gumps down to the wire on the very last play of the game has much more to do with how people feel about Georgia right now...not just that they deserve something more by being runner-up. But I'm sure that is nothing new to you, right?

Same thing happened to Mizzou in 2007. Mizzou had one loss (against Oklahoma) going into Big 12 championship, played Oklahoma tough in the championship game, and then had to settle for the Cotton Bowl against a shitty Arkansas while Kansas went to the Orange Bowl even though their one loss came against Mizzou and they never had to play Oklahoma.
fricking BCS bullshite. fricking pussy Jayhawkers.

Typical Gump. Instead of understanding the views of other teams in his own conference, he manages to somehow get his own coach's name into a post making it partially about Bama.
Bama fans typically have a narsasitic (sp) tendency. There's no empahy to be had anywhere. Bama's going to the NCG so all is right with the world. TAMU and Mizou fans should start to learn why some in our conference would never cheer for Bama.

Of course he was, he saw this exact scenario playing out and he was right. Why cant you admit that he was prescient in what we are now experiencing.

Game could have gone either way and GA deserves to be in a BCS game. Most reasonable fans will agree.

Umm, yeah, isn't that what the poster stated? Saban was talking about the runner up getting a lesser bowl because a loss in the Championship game. He (Saban) was repeatedly accused of whinning, politicking, "belly aching" etc when he saw this outcome. Sure CWM would offer to take UA's place in a BCS or CAP 1 scenario and give Bama the Sugar to play Lville.

OP was old news. Saban called it last week and instead of seeing that he was probably right you skewered him for it. And now you want sympathy. Boofrickin hoo

No brah, it's an agenda against the SEC . Happened in 2008 as well when Texas, OU and Tech were all 11-1. But you didn't hear any talk of rematch or 3 teams in the BCS.
The system just sucks, it isn't out to get you.

Saban got called out for being a hypocrit. You should know why.

It called redistribution of wealth. We should be used to this by now.

Wasn't that because of a Big 12 rule?
Can you not see that 4 SEC teams got left out and THAT's the reason for this thread or are you just ignoring the situation at hand?
Posted on 12/2/12 at 8:37 pm to TigersRuleTheEarth
I don't think UGA's resume is any more impressive than aTm or LSU or SCe.

My point was it has happened before, it's not something against the SEC...the system just sucks. But obviously that went over your head.

I was asking if it was because of a Big 12 rule because I couldn't remember.
We know that every year a team gets screwed because of the conference championship games. It's happened in the SEC a few times. It comes with the territory of having a confernce champ game. That's not what this thread is about.
This is about this year's sitution which is unique. Quite a few desreving SEC teams have been left out this year in particular because of the BCS system. It just seems that fans of other conferences will not understamd the point being made. Mainly because there have been no other times in BCS history where 1 conference has had 6 out of the top 10 on the final week of the BCS.
We are both agreeing that the system sucks, but since this is the "S E C Rant" the OP will address how the system is affecting the S E C.

While it sucks to be left out of the BCS, A&M got the least screwed out of the bunch. We get the Cotton against a quality opponent. I actually prefer that to UF's situation, a BCS bowl against a turd.
