I think it is gonna be a while before we have all of the pieces in place like we did this year. Next year I think our offense will be kick arse but we are replacing our whole defense pretty much. We will be starting a lot of young guys, we had 9 NFLers this year and sucked a big one for most of the year so that makes me very uneasy for next year with less talent. Unless Gurley puts the team on his back Cam style I don't think we make the SECCG next year. And by the time our Defense gets mature again with experience our offense will be in question. Also next year's schedule is not favorable to us at all.

Well according to the past 10 years 2016.
But if Grantham stays I could see around 2014 or 2015.
Next year will be very interesting we wil be loaded on offense and the dream team will be in it's third year

When I think about the defense next year, I wonder if there's really any way they could be much worse than they were most of this season, statistically anyway. We will have A LOT more depth of front so I really don't think we will be as bad against the run. Passing defense will struggle.

We can still be a good team next year but probably not national title contenders. The Florida and LSU games will be huge.

The 2010 Auburn team gives me hope. They didn't have a stellar d but could manage the game with ball control .Idk ,maybe wishful thinking ?Our offense should be very good.

They had Cam Newton. We don't.

The next shot we get is with our new coach. Not Miami Spray Tan, when he is gone we will get another shot or few!!!!!

If Geathers comes back we have him and Garrison Smith starting on the Dline and Amarlo Herrera and Jordan Jenkins starting at linebacker with Swann at one corner. Ray Drew has gotten some playing time this year so that might be your defensive line throw in Dawson with some playing time this year at linebacker. Just because we are losing some NFL draftable talent doesn't mean we can't have better team Defense. Starting out it might take 5 or 6 games to come together but we might actually have a better team defense by the end of the year, and if we can win a couple of shootouts early who knows.

I realise we don't have a Newton running our offense but you've got to admit it can be scary good at times. The defense being gutted may not be as bad as we all think, considering the way it's performed vs the run all season long.I'm trying like hell to be positive about the future .

Faton Bauta. But even if he has the talent, we'd never utilize him properly.

Against lesser opponents. We haven't blown any good teams out. I suspect we'll stay in our modern traditional zone (8-4 to 10-2) for quite a while.

Yep, I'm expecting something like a 9-3 season next year.

I know we're wringing our hands at all the losses on defense, but I have to hold out hope. When Justin Houston declared for the draft, everybody was worried. Then came Jarvis. (Realistically, I don't expect underclassmen to step up for losing 9 starters, but that's exactly the sort of environment that causes good players to develop to great/elite).

2013. As a whole, Dawgs could be better than this year. Lotta depth coming back on defense. Not starters, but players who have decent playing time.

I see a lot promise in Jordan Jenkins. If Foster decides to stay at The barn or go to Bama. Jordan will be the next stand out. He is fundamentally sound and strong as hell as a true freshman this year. He will be a beast next year. Calling for him to have 8 plus sacks.

I don't know...getting through the east isn't the gauntlet it has been in the past. Also, we had two games against ranked opponents this year where we actually showed up (FL and AL). That hasn't happened in a while but shows maybe a light is going on somewhere.

We've had some really strong offensive players over the years and, if we can build depth to the O and D lines, we'll get our shot sooner rather than later. The problem that we have is the level of competition in the SEC. Getting to Atlanta with 1 or no losses will be tough.

I don't buy this whole "it took us 30 years to get here again" crap either. The environment is such that being undefeated is going to get harder and harder for all teams - and a 1 loss SEC team that wins the SECG will get a shot more times than not.

We're a long way from when Tub's undefeated AU team was shut out. You win your division, even with a loss, and you get a shot. Hell if we can split SC and LSU it could happen as soon as next year.
