Now that a season is under your belt. What is your perception of SEC fanbases? Your perceptions coming in different from those now? Biggest surprises to you?

The best comparison I can think of is the many European soccer leagues, there's a bunch of leagues, but then there's the Premier League, which is by far the biggest, best, and most significant. I thought it would seem different in the SEC, but it exceeded my expectations.
As far as fan bases, I find them all to be passionate about their schools, a bunch of large stadiums, but the biggest thing that surprised me is the knowledge. I've talked with some SEC fans who knew a ton about A&M's team in the spring time before we had started a game, thought that was pretty cool.

Good question. Hopefully thought out responses.

I think A&M will prove LSU's rival, in it's real sense. In fact I have Sumlin's home address and a trunk full of rocks.

Auburn:
Nice people, few guys at work were very complimentary and courteous. Not sure how much of this was due to a bad season, but it seemed genuine at the time.
Alabama:
There surprisingly wasn't too much "superiority" type smack talk like I expected. There was a vocal minority that doesn't know football, that talked too much shite and ate crow. Everyone else was respectful, especially when a few even admitted they got humbled.
LSU:
Suck my fat dick you corn dog eating ****s. You're more arrogant than Texas. That's hard to do.
MSU:
no interaction.
Arky:
Nicer this year than as out of conference foes. They did a 180 from their douchiness at cowboys stadium in years past. Nice Surprise.
Florida:
Lots of good fans at the game, and all around really pleasant fan base. Wouldn't mind having them as our permanent east rival.
Ole Miss:
Couple pretentious fans, which seems odd due to their record. But, all in all, lots of nice people and a great look at the grove/tailgating how it should be.
Every single game was 1000 times more enjoyable than big 12 games though. I never had batteries thrown at me, nor stupid jokes yelled my way, or heard any racist slurs. All those things cant be said for last season in the big 12.
On a special note.
Latech fans are freaking stupid. They are convinced they are in fact LSU. I got beer thrown on me, and cussed at. All while they were telling us about how we were gonna get raped, etc.
That was funny, reminds me of Baylor.

A lot of arrogance, some worse than others. Quite sick of the "Mizzou doesn't belong" shtick from fanbases that haven't even made a trip to Columbia yet.

Not really - I think I knew what we were getting into, I thought we would have a slightly better season though.

Biggest surprises to you?
How bad our team was this year compared to how well A&M competed. Also surprised how good the top six teams in the SEC were and how awful the bottom of the conference is (us, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas).

More fun to drink with at bars. Don't say the same shite over and over. My car wasn't damaged once this year while going to games. (which is a first by the way). Which mean y'all are better drunks and drunk drivers.

I like what you did there:
Bama: lots of arrogance from the fans, but you do have a damn good team.
Arkansas: :rivalry:
Georgia: My favorite SEC fanbase
Kentucky: Had a bad year even by Kentucky football standards, but pretty pitiful support for the football team. I think we could develop a nice rivalry down the road.
A&M: I'll miss playing you every year, great fanbase even if your fans on the rant are shitheads.
Other fanbases I haven't had any/enough interaction with to say anything... if I based it purely on this board, I'd probably hate all SEC teams.

Shocked that you fricks would bring Texas up in a question about SEC fans.

The fan from the school that acts like they own the SEC even though they came in 5th place calling us arrogant. Pretty funny.

Read my posts.
I don't act like we own shite. My opinions aren't quite as outrageous since most Aggies don't know how to "act like you've been there before."

uh, you realized we just played them for 115 years? And we've been in the SEC for 12 months. What did you want me to compare the fans to? lol

I think that the competition level top to bottom is a lot closer between the Big 12 and SEC than I thought as first. I thought it would have been demonstrably better than the Big 12 and that just isnt the case. The SEC is better at the very top but after that its pretty even between the two conferences.
The fans have been cool, the ones I have actually interacted with in person. The message board banter doesnt really register in my opinions because its all just BS in the end.
The biggest surprise was seeing the spread do well in the SEC with aTm. I always thought that Mizzou would have to go more traditional but with the right personnel a team can be effective with a spread.
Overall really glad Mizzou is a part of this great conference.

We bustin' out the elementary school-level insults now? C'mon man, I know it stresses your coonass brain to be clever, but at least look like you're trying next time

Love being in the SEC and their really isn't a particular fan base that I generally dislike. Of course, with the thousands of fans for every team you will have the occasional but that's to be expected even with A&M.
I believe (as does the majority of Aggies) in class and respect when it comes to dealing with opposing fans.
