Did anyone else gamble on ticket reserves this year? What are the tickets estimated to actually sell for this year? Are stubhub prices a good indicator?
Thanks

Everybody is saying it's going to be the most expensive college ticket ever, regardless of Saturday's winner in Atlanta.

Ticket reserves sucked this year for Alabama. They were high to start with and were awful seats. I think the starting bid was like $400 before the season started.
I got Pasadena and New Orleans reserves for $60 before the season started.

So the reserves don't all start out at the same price at the opening of the ticket reserve market? Or do the prices just shoot up that quick?

It's ridiculous how expensive they are this year compared to what they have been. I put back around 2 grand for this trip a few months ago and now its looking like I'm not gonna be close to having enough to go. fricking sucks balls.

Two grand will barely get you in the game maybe

Yes for some reason the reserves with terrible this year. 2 grand is the most I would drop, I got 2 tickets for 600 in 09, plus cost of the trip was around 2,000.

Save $1800 . spend $200 on beer food by going to your local alumni bar or just watch it with friends.

about $1500 per tix is cheapest I found. Upper deck but not all way to top. I expect that to go up, especially if it's Bama.

The SEC has an official app where people can buy and sell tickets so you know they are legit.

Yes!
Not sure where the prices will end up, but they are as high as last year as far as ticket reserves go.
Stubhub is good if you create an account so that you can see what tickets are actually selling for.
Right now avg. sold price is $1700, but obviously the better the seat the higher the price as most clubs are well over $2500/ticket.

How do ticket reserves work?

Ticket Reserve Site
Basically you can gamble on your team(or any team) making it to the title game at the start of the year. You purchase the right to buy tickets for a certain team at face value. If they don't make the title game then you lose your money.
Based on UGA's schedule, I figured it was worth the $20 per reserve price. I bought 6 UGA upper reserves at the start of the year for $128. If UGA beats Bama the reserves could possibly sell for close to $1000 each.

Which reserves do you currently own Tyger?
Posted on 11/30/12 at 10:41 pm to ATLsuTiger
Got 4 ND (2 Prem. Corner and 2 Sideline), Got 1 Bama Sideline, 2 UGA Uppers, and 1 UGA Sideline.
How about you?

Bama v ND would lead to some rather expensive tickets.

quote:Holy shite I would have done that in a heartbeat. I tried to drop 20 on Georgia at 12:1 or whatever but found out neither Biloxi or Nola had a sportsbook. That would have been a much better payoff.
