This is a serious question and is by no means an intended flame or an attempt to rub it in, after-all y'all did kick our arse. But do y'all wish A&M would have stayed in the Big 12 one more year? Y'all might have been playing in the NC Game and that would have been one hell of a way to leave the Big 12 and stick it to the Horns.

No.

Glad to be out of the Big 12. Its an incestuous, disfunctional family. We're where we belong now.

Edit: The whatif game sucks, but with our defensive problems we might have a worse record in the Big 12 this year.

No. Too many variables to assume that we would have been undefeated in the big?

Jesus Christ, please do us a favor and move on

And I love how gumps automatically assume that a team is great because they beat them.

Nope we won the war being in the SEC and doing better the expected and projected we can now out recruit Texas and make them even more nonrelevant than they already are imo that's better than anything we would have gained by staying

No. I'm glad we're here. And everything that has happened is a little odd.

Go back to 2011, we are a top 10 team and completely crap the bed in the most odd ways. Favored in every game but one, we take big leads in the first half and take a big dump on the second half. It ends with a loss to Texas, ensuring Sherm's canning.

This year comes, we were supposed to be struggling to make a bowl. Everything is new. New QB, new staff, new conference. Almost too perfect, right? The SEC media days had a feeling of "how is it going to feel getting your teeth kicked in?" And unlike Mizzou, we took a wait and see approach. But inside it's starting to come out that our players were pissed. Joeckel, Sumlin, and JFF have discussed that.

A ton of eyes were on TAMU this season. Some to see how we would do. Some to watch us fall on our face. And with all the increased exposure we killed it.

Wouldn't change a thing and I absolutely love this conference. The fans are all as crazy and nutty and as passionate as we are. It truly feels like home for TAMU.

It was also largely stated that Sherman was fired because A&M didn't want to go into a new league with a coach that was already on the hot seat. If we had stayed in the Big 12, Sherman might still be the coach and Showers could have been the QB.

Stayed in the big 12 = Would have kept Sherman = Another shitty season = Manziel on the bench.

We don't have to stick it to the horns, they've managed to figure out numerous ways to stick it to themselves.

No, not at all

A&M leaving has shaken up the Big 12 and Austin, TX. All the remaining Big 12 teams should be thanking us.

When Ags left, it forced Texass to take a new look at their situation. They found out they weren't as wanted as they thought by other conferences and couldn't dictate TV deals to them. The Pac 12 said no to the LHN.

Forced Texass back to the table and now the Big 12 has equal revenue sharing on TV rights.

For those of you that know about the Big 12, you know that things significantly changed in Austin once the Aggies told them to get fricked.

Should have gone to the SEC 20 years ago.

That's something that most SECrs don't understand. The Big Twatever (AKA Deloss Dodds, the fricking longhorns) is super corrupt. They (fricking longhorns) would NEVER have allowed A&M to be undefeated. You name it, they would have done it, including murder.

Here is a quote from a "fricking longhorn insider" to give you some perspective.

quote:

all I can say is that if what one source told me this morning was true, there's some serious disagreement on how Texas should move forward.

Here are a few things shared today:

What's lighting a fire right now has more to do with Aggy than it does with OU. There's always been a sort of tolerance with Mack and OU as it relates to former players and donors. Some may disagree with that but that has been the case since Texas was on that 5 game losing streak. Nobody liked being second to OU but they could point to how well Texas did against the rest of the league and especially A&M. To some degree the A&M game really kept the heat off Mack because Texas we so dominant in that series under Mack. The irony here is that Mack can't hold that game up anymore since Texas no longer plays them. But their success this year has really lit a fire for some at Texas.

"The thing that's being thrown around right now is how Texas compares to where Texas A&M was this time last year. Sherman had a losing record in conference play in four years, The Aggy BOR acted primarily because a few former players
and boosters demanded action and went against some of the big name donors. Aggy was financially strapped and had to pay Sherm a significant buyout but they wanted to change the culture at texas a&m bad enough to make it happen. They were desperate for a change and knew they couldn't afford to start SEC play with the same program they had in the big 12. They changed their culture with one hire. It was a huge gamble but it paid off and they are relevant nationally again for the first time in a long time. If you look at the last 3 years, Mack is really struggling in conference games. In fact, he's on a stretch in conference play not seen around here in a long, long time. people around the state have eyes and when Texas is struggling and the ags are getting all the pub people start to get a little nervous because Texas has been operating without pretty much any resistance from other teams in the state. That has not only changed but it's changed so much that you can argue that the two programs has switched places from there they were just 3 years ago in terms of relevance in the state. Not saying I agree with that but many feel that way. Could a very vocal group challenge the decision of Powers and Dodds the way the group of people at A&M did? I don't know. I still think Mack comes back next year but ending the year with 3 straight losses would be a tough sell for this group."

One guy told me this morning that Mack has all but cut off communication between himself and people not directly involved in the day to day operations at Texas.

"i've never seen him like this. The access that so many people had to him is all but gone and I think it's starting to backfire a little to be honest. Some people just aren't sure what's going on with him and the team because he's pulled back so much. Guys that were in his corner no matter what have started to question what it is he's trying to do not just with the program but with his attitude change. Some blame it on the LHN but I think all of it has taken it's toll on him. Everything seems laborious for him. "

Moving to the SEC has COMPLETELY changed the entire program AND the state of college football in Texas, because the SEC WANTS A&M (and all it's other members) to succeed. It only helps the entire league when every team succeeds. Contrasted with the Big Twatever, as you can see above, they HAD TO make sure that A&M failed. The Big Twatever was a weak conference to begin with in terms of TV deals and national exposure. That fricking-longhorn-centric conference must preserve the fricking longhorns above any other Texas program or the very survival of the Big Twatever is at risk (in the arrogant minds of the fricking longhorns). A&M's success jeopardized the the national appeal, according to those arse munchers.

So in sum, NO. WE WOULD NEVER PLAY IN AN NC GAME WHILE IN THE BIG TWATEVER. We would either be handed a loss by the zebras, or when we did go undefeated, the Texas media spin would be that the Big Twatever conference is in a down year (aka A&M is not good, the rest just suck) and A&M would not get the requisite votes in the polls.

If we never win a NC in the SEC, so be it. At least we are not propping up the jackasses in Austin at our own expense.

Even if we were 0-12 in the SEC this year, I would still rather be in the SEC.
I hope this finally answers this question.
Thank You Mike Slive and R. Bowen Loftin.
