I have seen some rumors on twitter about it, but took them just as rumors. Then, this morning first thing, a co-worker approached me and asked what I thought about him turning pro. Can anyone verify these rumors?

I see it sort of as a Willis McGahee situation, and if true, I hope it turns out as well for Latt as it did him. He definitely needs to do what's best for him and his family, and he definitely needs to take out an insurance policy.

I haven't heard about him turning pro but

this. I don't see anyway that he would be ready for the combine and his draft stock wouldn't be high.

however, if it is true, then I wish him the best.

In the words of Tupacz " I ain't mad at ya". Could we ask for more? No he knows he doesn't have to carry us anymore at running back. If he stays now its strictly for his own reasons or to prove himself to scouts.

Kornblut broke the story b/c he said that David Williams (RB prospect) was told by the coaches that they didn't expect to have Lattimore back next year.

Makes sense. I didn't expect to have Latt back next year either, but possibly in 2014. Sportstalk was who tweeted it when I saw it, so that would be PK's twitter account.

Who could blame him?

I'll be pulling for him should he decide to do it - and I would not blame him in the least.

He deserves all the best imho.

If the coaches are telling the prospects what they are apparently telling them, then I'd say Marcus has told them already and it reads like a done deal.

What is getting fishy now is that there has been no official response to this from the University or Marcus' circle.

Has anyone heard anything from one of the Pay Sites about the definitiveness of Lattimore leaving?

Definite. He has signed with an agent already. Michael Perret or something like that.

I hope he does extensive rehab and enters the combine in 2014, but knowing Latti and as hard as he works, he could enter this year. I hold absolutely nothing against Lattimore no matter what he decides to do and I wish him the absolute best. The guy gave us everything he had for three years, it's just a shame we'll never know what he could've done if he went injury free and stayed all four years.

We've got capable backs waiting in the wings, so best of luck to Latti and I think we will be just fine.

Perrett is from Atlanta, and is an up and coming agent. Signed Duane Allen from Clemson last year among others.

According to a video on youtude for his birthday... Spurrier said, "Latti gave me a message, he said, he'll be back!"

You are correct, he did say that. I am just going by information I have from a friend who knows the players well.

I for one hope he goes pro if he can get drafted in a reasonable spot. I really want the young man to get paid. He has given enough.

Official announcement will come on Wednesday. Lattimore is unsure how Joe Schad found out.

He shouldn't be shocked. These guys, especially the stars are all under the microscope. As soon as he told 1 person, it was going to spread like fire.

He didn't say that he was shocked. Just said that he hadn't told anyone but close friends, a few teammates, and some of the coaches.
