Why Does Jacobs Need A Dam* Search Committee?

I would think he has some guys that he trusts to bounce ideas off of, but if you were hired as the AD, then step up and be the AD. I have always hated this chicken crap approach by AD's or administrators. It is nothing but an escape hatch for or if things go south. My daughter will be heading to AU in the fall, wants to be a pharmacist, so spare me the why you so interested gump stuff.

Every school has a committee or search firm to help them hire coaches this is very common.

Because you have to put together an official search committee of your friends where you can all get a pay check. It is common place for people like this to appoint their friends to committees in order to frick the tax payers out of money. I feel certain theat their "work" on the committee is not volunteer. Rich people never pass up a chance to frick the public out of a little extra.

Committees usually to see if there is interest and a staff that could be in place reasonalbly quick.

Another reason would be that Jay Jacobs has no credibility in the real world & he needs these other guys to contact potential coaches bc JJ would just frick the whole thing up.
