Dennis Johnson vs. LSU

Flagshippers, as you know Dennis Johnson has had a pretty good career at Arkansas. He has amassed over 2,000 yards in his career. He also has had devastating issues against LSU. His fumble last year turned the game in favor of the Tigers, much like his fumble this year.
So I put the question to you, Razorback fans on a scale of the catastrophic Reggie Fish against Florida to the relatively inoffensive Matt Jones fumble against Tejas, where does Dennis Johnson's performances over the last two years fall on the scale of recent Razorback heartbreak?

I have nothing but respect and appreciation for DJ. He will never be seen in the same light as Reggie Fish. He has simply done too much for this team. So ill grant him a mulligan for that goddamn motherfricking fumble. Obviously I'm a little butthurt but there are plenty of other things we did or didn't do that helped us lose that game.

Not as painful as Fish/Stoerner, but he's got himself a decent legacy of "dropping the ball" which by themselves aren't as catostrophic as the Stumble Fumble, but are more like death by 1000 paper cuts. That said, he had a great career and his pros far outweigh his cons. His errors though, will keep him out of the hearts and minds of many as being an all-time favorite.

If DJ can put it all together, I feel that he will have a great pro career. He clearly has the talent to play very well at the next level, all he has to do is work on consistency.

"ACROSS THIS LINE YOU DO NOT ... also, Dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian American, please."
I sort of thought DJ would have even more of an impact in his career. It seems like all the measurable (though 5'9" he was stout) and skills were there. His pass catching was really a plus. Against LSU, though, he had a tendency to put it on the ground.

Nowhere near anything like that. I'll remember him as a really good back/kick returner with fumbling issues.
If I recall, he put together a solid game vs. LSU in 2008.

Him and Knile fumbled so many times this year that I just kind of became numb to it after about the fourth game. I swear we must have fumbled more times this year than we did in the past four combined.

He did. Then again, who didn't?

I will always appreciate DJ's returns and his drive to get yards. His fumbles have cost us, and maybe were turning points, but I do not think we win this year or last with or without his fumbles. In the end he was a good Hog, and for that he deserves my respect and gratitude. None of his fumbles will ever come close to the Stoerner debacle, as that clearly cost us a game and possibly an undefeated season.

Sure did seem like it. I'll remember dj appreciatively tho- he had a few very good games this year where he certainly deserved to win even if the rest of the team (coaches) didn't necessarily.

Yep. I'm right there with you. When he's got his head in the game, I don't know if there are many backs that are as fast/quick as him, that are just SOOO hard to bring down. You CAN'T tackle him with 1 guy 99% of the time. I really think he's got a chance to make a dent in the pros if he can control the fumbles and show more focus in practices.
To the OP, I'll always think that we under-utilized him. He has more vision than any running back we've had in years, but we just didn't use him enough. Some of that was fumbles, but mostly it seemed to stem from attitude problems/unrest between he and Petrino.
