good luck with your search, and I'll hang up and listen.

Tim Jackson is a British ecological economist and professor of sustainable development at the University of Surrey. He was the founder and director of RESOLVE and is director of the recently-awarded Defra/ESRC Sustainable Lifestyles Research Group.

He's been with the AD for close to 25 years now, started off as a GA with the football team, then moved to ticket sales, then worked his way up the Tigers Unlimited ladder...
Was buddy-buddy with Chizik while he was here as DC (like Jacobs), and when Chizik came back, he basically made Jackson co-head coach of the football team.
Ol' TJ was put in charge of things like player discipline (which was nonexistent), and sat in on offensive meetings and acted as Chizik's "spy" (while Wayne Bolt did the same for defensive... BVG got fed up with him and kicked him out).

Is it expected that Jackson will keep his job or will Jacobs use him as a scape goat?

Jacobs "reassigned" him the minute he fired Chizik.
He said at the press conference, "Tim will no longer be involved in Auburn football going forward." (or something to that degree)

Spot on, he is also universally hated by Auburn Fans.

He has been reaasigned and will have no football related duties. Unfortunately, that leaves him in the athletic department. Could be temporary, who knows.

The main thing that got him hated was he has poor customer skills during his time in the ticket office and tiger unlimited. When he was brought on to help chizik oversea the team it made people even madder due to his history of meddling. He ticked off Luper early on due to his inability to work with people.
He wasn't over player discipline as many have heard but he was involved with the coaches and had chiziks ear in many situations.

When is Auburn going to purge themselves of that turd Lolley. That guy is part of why the secondary can't cover or tackle. I know he had no "on-field" responsibilities this year, but his coaching or lack of it, carried over. He stabbed Martinez every chance he got.

That wasnt Lolley's coaching, he was told what to do and how to teach and coach from higher ups, during his time as a coach. He is/was very pissed and bitter about it.

Who were these higher ups?

He wouldnt say directly, but my assumptions were Chiz. His comments were something like, "do you think it was my idea or coaching to teach our guys to play like that? I was directed by my superiors" I cant remember it verbatim, as I had a few beers that night.

WTF? This sounds so bush league. Not a way to run a multi-million dollar enterprise. Frankly, it reminds me of stuff going on at Alabama pre-Saban. Auburn just needs to completely clean house. They need someone with the clout to tell the old guard to STFU and GTFO while still getting them to support the Athletic Department financially only.

I hear Lowder went out and had a brand-new Harley delivered to the complex today.

Honda Gullwing, they made sure it's got anti-lock brakes, traction control, and most importantly, a sunvisor

Believe me when I say this is what most of us Auburn fans want. It's past time for a major overhaul of the good ol boys in the athletic department. I fear that until that happens Auburn won't succeed long term no matter who they hire. Not to mention that it will handicap in the hiring process since most coaches aren't willing to walk into a situation where they won't have a lot of control over the program.

I don't think Petrino would be a bad hire at all from a coaching standpoint, but I wonder if he has the cache and credibility to really just come in, take over, and tell the meddlers - "you're done." He is a bit of a wounded figure.
But I don't really know who else could.

Lolley is one of the best corner coaches I know, he was PISSED when told not to coach a certain way. Amazing how our corners were solid under Tubs and magically forgot how to do things when coached once Chizik got on staff. Chizik had a very strong belief in how the secondary should be coached. It is odd because Chizik is considered a very good secondary coach as well but man that was a mess.

This already happened. The "old gaurd" doesn't have any clout anymore. And I am referring to the ones who actually made AU so successful for several decades, namely: Lowder, Housel, and Dye. None of those have any influence or say so anymore (I know, shocker, but Dye isn't running shite).
This has been the Jay Jacobs show since jetgate. That signalled the changing of the old gaurd. Housel was out, university president out and Gogue in soon after, Lowder was marginalized then pushed out completely, Dye was never pulling the strings to begin with.
Jacobs took over and has run the show his way since with consent from the university president to do so. The board of trustees is on the sidelines now and the "old guard" will have no say so in who the new coach is, just like they didn't with Chiz.
