First one's called a cut block, not a chop block. It's a staple of the tripleoption

He was engaged with another linemen

Yeaaa...no it's not. Thornton was engaged up top and was cut while engaged

The video was very fast, but I think the guy blocking him on the shoulders was pulling off

Come on, this is something an LSU fan would post. Don't be that guy.

Went uncalled.
It's not a penalty.
ETA: if you are talking about the nose guard, then yes. I think that was a chop block and is a 15 yard penalty.

Meh. Looks like dude went to the Nick Fairley school of power-bombing.

First one is definitely a chop block. Didn't watch the second one.

First one is dirty, unless it was a mistake in assignments.
Second one isn't, IMO.
Will the backup NT be ok for next week? Might be important since we are playing more up-tempo at times lately and since Jenkins is almost too fat to play football. TIA.

Im actually not really that upset. I am thankful there wasn't more of that, as this game gets chippy sometimes.

He is actually a 3rd stringer I believe, and Im not sure of his status at the moment.

Well, i hope it's nothing serious. Any other injuries from the game?
Kenny Bell's broken leg is the only one I know of for us.

Im not seeing anything noteworthy. Thornton went down after this chop block, and I'm not hearing anything on his status at all.

no
cut block, not a chop block
yes
unnecessary roughness. tackle, tackle hard but leave this crap to the wrestlers

I've seen players suspended for plays like this.
